A big milestone for our Charleston team. We recently celebrated the topping out of the West Gate Expansion at Charleston International Airport, just four months after breaking ground. This progress reflects the hard work, coordination, and commitment of our crews on site. Once complete, the expansion will add four new gates, increase passenger seating, and enhance the overall travel experience for those flying through Charleston. Great work by everyone involved in moving this project forward.

Our Raleigh team participated in TA Loving’s Shoot for a Cure last Friday, supporting efforts to fund cancer research. It’s always meaningful to step off the jobsite and come together for something that impacts so many lives. We appreciate the partnership with T. A. Loving Company and the opportunity to support an event that’s making a difference.

From building the foundation to responding when it matters most. As Charlottesville grew from 19,000 to 38,000 residents between the 1940s and 1970s, Faulconer helped meet the moment by delivering critical infrastructure to support expanding transportation and utility needs. From constructing the Route 250 Bypass to move traffic out of downtown to completing the Sugar Hollow Reservoir in 1947, which is still serving the community today, our work has long supported the region’s growth. That same commitment continues. Following the Rivanna Pump Station failure in January 2024, our team helped install a 50 MGD emergency bypass system to keep wastewater moving and protect the community, working alongside strong partners to restore operations and move toward full rehabilitation. In September 2025, our Central VA team began work for Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority at the Ragged Mountain Reservoir Pool Raise to expand drinking water capacity and recreational access for the Charlottesville region. This multi-scope reservoir improvement project is one of the more environmentally complex jobs in our portfolio. Decades later, the work continues, building, supporting, and responding when our communities need it most. Never Stronger.

Our Cary team was recently recognized by Clancy & Theys Construction as an Outstanding Trade Partner on the Red Hat Amphitheater project in downtown Raleigh. This project has come with its share of logistical challenges and changing conditions, but Project Manager Brad, Superintendent Brantley, and the entire team have stayed focused on collaboration, consistency, and delivering the Faulconer standard every step of the way. We appreciate the partnership with Clancy & Theys and look forward to continuing the work together.

Project Highlight: Ragged Mountain Reservoir Pool Raise Expanding drinking water capacity and recreational access for the Charlottesville region. In September 2025, our Central VA team began work for Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority on this multi-scope reservoir improvement project, one of the more environmentally complex jobs in our portfolio. Scope includes: - 7+ miles of shoreline clearing - New CIP concrete boat ramps and expanded parking - Floating trail bridge extension and log boom protection - Embankment blanket drain to address seepage and upgraded electrical monitoring - Auxiliary spillway access road and intake structure modification to reach the new normal pool elevation Subcontractor MTM Enterprises is leading all clearing operations, more than 25% of the total project value, using barges with knuckle boom loaders to fell, transport, and process timber across the reservoir. 🦇 Worth noting: Tree clearing is restricted to November 15–March 31 under Virginia bat protection requirements, when bats are not roosting or raising young. Environmental scheduling isn't a footnote here; it's a core part of how we planned this job. When complete, this project will add 700 million gallons of drinking water capacity, a critical resilience investment for drought conditions, along with improved boat launch facilities, expanded paddling and fishing access, and additional parking along Reservoir Road.

Throughout March, Faulconer's executive and business leaders traveled across Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina to bring our annual Spring Kickoff events directly to the field and to the people who make it all possible. This year’s gatherings carried special meaning as we celebrate 80 years of Faulconer Construction. At each stop, leadership had the chance to personally thank team members for their hard work and dedication, share company highlights, discuss the road ahead, and hear directly from the people doing the work every day. Over a shared meal and in a relaxed setting, employees and leaders connected, celebrated, and looked ahead together. Thank you to everyone who joined us this March. You are the foundation of everything we accomplish. 80 years in, and Never Stronger.
