    Coachella might be one of the most documented events on earth. The festival fits, the videos, the ‘you had to be there’ posts from people who were barely there. It's a weekend that sometimes seems like it’s about being seen online. So naturally, Pinterest showed up and we asked everyone to put their phones away. We built a phone-free space on the festival grounds. Guests locked their phones in a pouch at the door and just hung out. They made charms with their friends. Got a bold festival look, courtesy of our brilliant partners at E.L.F. BEAUTY. And walked away with a printed ‘Joy Guide’ full of keepsakes and photos they could mail home to themselves, to keep the IRL experience going. The best part? No one missed their phone.  I watched it happen. Pinterest has always been about feeding your real life, instead of draining it. This weekend, I got to see firsthand what it looks like when a moment is less about being seen, and more about being truly there.

    It’s easy to forget how different life felt before we were all so ensnared in the trappings of social media. And for Gen Z, most never got to experience a world without social media and are craving more connection to the real world. Pinterest’s new brand campaign film reflects on the freedom and connection of a pre-social media world - using old home movies and family photos from our employees’ archives - and begins a broader campaign about helping people get off their phones and into real life. We’ve been investing in user wellbeing for years, including making our platform private-only for users under 16, tuning our AI for positivity and for helping users do more in the real world, and advocating for youth online safety broadly. This is a continuation of that work and our commitment to youth online safety and wellbeing. You’ll see more of it across TV, CTV, out of home, digital, social, and in cinemas in the weeks ahead.

    Growth, creativity, and connection were at the heart of this year’s Women& Conference. In March, our Women@ employee resource group hosted the annual event for women and allies across Pinterest, centered on the theme "Unbreakable." Through workshops, keynote sessions, volunteering, and more, employees came together to learn, celebrate, and build community. As Iesha (O'Deneal) Berry, VP, Culture & Experience, shared: "I am so incredibly proud of the Women@ and Women& planning team. This year, they curated an engaging experience that brought together women and allies across the company, both in person and virtually. It was a moment to explore what it means to be Unbreakable, celebrate community, and showcase our core value of creating belonging."
