Google's rapid AI improvement has lifted its once-beleaguered cloud division, with startups and enterprises now clamoring to build on top of the newly competitive Gemini. And this week, the giant will have its next big cloud moment in Las Vegas. At Cloud Next 2026, partners and customers will convene to hear about Google’s latest AI and cloud updates. This year's #GoogleCloudNext also follows recent moves Google Cloud has made or reportedly considered as part of its vision to create a new AI stack. A few other recent examples: — Just this weekend, there were reports Google is in talks with Marvell Technology to develop two new chips: a memory processing unit and new TPU. — Earlier this month, Anthropic announced a new deal with Google and Broadcom for multiple gigawatts of TPU capacity, coming online next year — A February, Google was reportedly looking to expand the market for its TPU chips, potentially through funding startups like the neocloud firm Fluidstack. The way people feel about AI at home is influencing how they trust it at work. 55% of Americans believe AI will do more harm than good, and 70% expect fewer job opportunities. That same uncertainty is showing up in the workplace, where confidence in AI outputs drives adoption. Strong governance at the team level builds clarity, accountability and trust — laying the foundation for long-term confidence across the enterprise.
Fifty-five percent of Americans now believe AI will do more harm than good in their daily lives, an 11‑point jump in just one year. Seventy percent expect AI to reduce job opportunities, a sentiment echoed by Anthropic’s CEO, who warned of “unusually painful” labor disruption.
