Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the full-cycle Accounts Payable function and lead a high-performing team. This role partners closely with business units, external vendors, and an offshore AP team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service delivery in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and develop AP staff while managing workflow across onshore and offshore teams
  • Oversee full-cycle AP including invoice intake, approval routing, and payment processing
  • Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain AP aging and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage vendor onboarding, W9/W8 collection, and vendor master data maintenance
  • Ensure strong internal controls and segregation of duties over vendor changes
  • Oversee annual 1099 reporting and support internal/external audits
  • Manage fixed asset accounting including capitalization, depreciation, additions, disposals, and reconciliations
  • Coordinate annual personal property tax filings
  • Evaluate and improve AP processes, automation, and system enhancements
  • Develop and monitor AP KPIs and performance metrics
  • Serve as primary liaison for AP and vendor-related inquiries across internal departments


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong background in vendor maintenance, invoice processing, and payment operations
  • Hands-on experience with 1099 reporting and AP-related tax compliance
  • Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting and personal property tax requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and AP automation tools

Preferred:

  • Experience supervising or partnering with offshore teams
  • Experience in a public company or SOX-compliant environment
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Experience with PO/PR workflows
  • Background in a regulated industry (e.g., financial services)
