A rapidly growing energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM). The organization has a strong track record in the power sector and is backed by a major institutional investor, with an expanding portfolio of projects in development and construction.
The APM will support the execution of utility-scale battery energy storage and substation projects. This role contributes to project delivery across safety, schedule, budget, contract management, and construction quality.
The position is primarily office-based with required travel to project sites as needed. A hybrid work model is in place, requiring in-office presence multiple days per week.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Familiarity with core project management processes including budgeting, contract negotiation, change order management, and scheduling software
PMP certification is a plus
Knowledge of construction safety practices (OSHA 30 preferred)
Minimum 2+ years of construction experience, including field/site exposure
Valid driver’s license and eligibility for company vehicle insurance
Ability to obtain a valid passport for potential international travel
Key Responsibilities
Planning
Support coordination of project design with internal and external engineering teams
Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, including participation in project kick-off and close-out activities
Help ensure contractors maintain daily safety plans and work plans
Monitor project schedules and assist with recovery planning when needed
Support coordination of design RFIs (Requests for Information)
Engage with landowners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction
