AVEVA System Platform Engineer – Greenfield Pharma Facility (12-Month Contract) - Remote with Occasional Site Visit

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing - Greenfield Program Build‑Out

We’re supporting a major new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility as it builds its digital plant infrastructure from the ground up. A core priority for the site is establishing an enterprise‑level SCADA environment using AVEVA System Platform (Wonderware), and we’re seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design and deployment of this architecture.

This is a key role within the site’s Automation & Digital Plant team, taking technical ownership of the SCADA platform to ensure scalability, reliability, and alignment with GMP expectations.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and deployment of the AVEVA System Platform architecture for a greenfield manufacturing facility
• Develop and configure Application Server objects, templates, and platform standards
• Integrate PLC‑based equipment, utilities, and facility systems into the SCADA environment
• Configure visualization layers using AVEVA InTouch OMI or InTouch HMI
• Implement alarm management, historian connectivity, and communication architectures
• Support integration across automation, IT/OT, process, and facility systems
• Participate in design reviews and cross‑discipline coordination sessions
• Support testing, commissioning, and verification of the SCADA platform
• Develop system design, configuration, and deployment documentation
• Troubleshoot system issues and support optimization during start‑up and operational readiness

What We’re Looking For

• Strong hands‑on experience deploying AVEVA System Platform (Wonderware)
• Expertise with Application Server object development and architecture design
• Experience configuring InTouch OMI or InTouch HMI visualizations
• Experience integrating equipment via PLCs and industrial communication protocols (OPC, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
• Strong understanding of SCADA integration within GMP manufacturing environments
• Experience supporting commissioning, verification, or qualification of automation systems
• Familiarity with data integrity expectations and SCADA validation requirements

Automation Platform Experience (Desired):

• Rockwell Automation PLCs
• Siemens PLCs
• Integration with DCS, process equipment, and utilities systems

This role is part of a large‑scale greenfield program where automation and digital infrastructure are being built concurrently with facility construction. You’ll work across automation, IT/OT, engineering, and validation to deliver a robust, compliant, and scalable SCADA environment.
