Summary
We are currently looking for a Junior Associate Product Manager in our Tantalum Business Unit at our Simpsonville SC location. This is an onsite role. The Junior Associate Product Manager is responsible for assisting with product line management activities including pricing, marketing, product development, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
KEMET’s Tantalum Business Group is the industry leader in tantalum capacitor technology. Tantalum capacitors are a specialized group of electronic components used in applications that have specific needs for high energy storage in the smallest possible form factor along with high reliability requirements. Some common end uses for these products include notebook computers, wearable electronics, network infrastructure, defense/aerospace applications, and advanced automotive systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with product managers and sales to define market needs and requirements for new products; collaborate with new product development teams and coordinate organizational functions to maintain a competitive product offering.
- Provide customer/market feedback to the Product Line Manager on customer needs (volume, ASP, value) to help optimize the product profits and losses.
- Build and maintain analytical tools, pricing files, and internal reports to drive growth and improve efficiency in pricing and quoting.
- Assume responsibility for product line revenue, growth, and profitability. Maintain ownership for ensuring that product lines meet annual targets.
- Travel and meet with customers and channel partners to understand needs, markets and market share opportunities for new product platforms.
- Develop pricing strategies with justifications that include competitive product comparisons, internal portfolio rationalization, and overall market trends.
- Assist with contract negotiation with key customer accounts.
- Provide input to the Marketing and Technical Marketing functions for generation of sales tools, presentations, seminars, application notes, technical documentation, and training tools.
- Key contributor for developing strategic plans that provide long-term product line direction and life cycle management; similarly contribute to the development of an annual operating plan
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering. Advanced degrees in business or marketing are a plus.
- Minimum of three to five years operational or business experience in a technical field preferred.
- Prior product line management experience a plus.
- Comfortable developing and presenting customer and industry presentations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Successful candidates typically have an aptitude for advancing their knowledge of technical subjects, particularly in the areas of engineering and data science.
