POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Manufacturing Process Engineer plays a key role in supporting and optimizing the Shopfloor (MES) system, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring the standardization of methods across sites. This role combines system ownership, operational support, and data-driven analysis to drive performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This position is based in Ohatchee, Alabama, and requires on-site presence.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Operational Performance & Continuous Improvement
• Analyze productivity metrics and identify performance gaps
• Identify waste and operational inefficiencies
• Recommend and implement corrective actions
• Support supervisors in driving measurable performance improvements
• Contribute to Lean initiatives (standard work, 5S, flow improvements, waste reduction)
• Act as a change agent to promote operational discipline and accountability
Methods & Standardization
• Conduct time and motion studies
• Establish, validate, and maintain standard times
• Ensure consistency of standards across multiple sites
• Support line balancing initiatives
• Optimize manufacturing methods and workflow organization
Shopfloor System Support & Analysis
• Support the Production Management System Coordinator in the implementation and continuous improvement of the Shopfloor system
• Act as the local point of contact for system issues and user support, in close alignment with the Coordinator
• Assist in analyzing gaps between production performance and system data
• Help ensure the accuracy and maintenance of system standards
• Support training for supervisors and production teams
Equipment, Layout & Process Optimization
• Identify automation opportunities and evaluate equipment needs
• Support layout adjustments based on operational needs
• Validate equipment performance and collaborate with maintenance teams to improve reliability
• Support initiatives to improve overall equipment effectiveness and workflow efficiency
Multi-Site Collaboration
• Support cross-site initiatives and projects
• Share best practices across manufacturing locations
WHAT YOU NEED:
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of experience in process improvement or manufacturing environments
• Lean manufacturing knowledge (5S, standard work, takt time)
• Strong data analysis skills (advanced Excel)
• Experience with MES/ Shopfloor / ERP systems (strong asset)
• Experience in textile manufacturing (asset)

• Continuous Improvement: Actively identifies inefficiencies and contributes to Lean initiatives (5S, flow optimization)
• Collaboration & Influence: Builds strong cross-functional relationships and influences decisions without direct authority
• Shopfloor System: Acts as a reliable on-site key user, ensuring data accuracy and effective system usage
• Structure & Execution: Maintains organized processes, ensures data consistency, and follows through on commitments
• Adaptability: Adjusts effectively to changing priorities and supports operations in a dynamic environment
