Network Engineer (Edge Networking)

Central Pennsylvania (Harrisburg / Mechanicsburg Area) – Hybrid

Long term Contract


Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise environment, focused on maintaining and enhancing edge network infrastructure across multiple sites.


This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of day-to-day network support, troubleshooting, and infrastructure deployments, with strong exposure to Cisco-based environments.


What You’ll Do

  • Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including:
  • Routers and switches
  • SD-WAN edge devices
  • Wireless and cellular network equipment
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues across LAN/WAN environments
  • Support network deployments, upgrades, and hardware refresh initiatives
  • Work within a ticketing system (ServiceNow) to track and resolve incidents
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure network performance and reliability
  • Utilize Cisco CLI for configuration and troubleshooting
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing new networking technologies
  • Maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations
  • Support both on-site and remote users with network-related issues


Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience with:
  • Network routing
  • Network switching
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network devices
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networking concepts
  • Experience working with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNA certification (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Exposure to SD-WAN technologies
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
  • Experience documenting network environments (Visio or similar tools)
