Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role located in Honolulu, HI. The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams for Veterans and service members to assess visual acuity and overall eye health, ensuring thorough documentation for disability evaluations. Responsibilities also include reviewing medical records, completing detailed reports, and providing accurate assessments in alignment with guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team may be required to maintain a high standard of care for Veterans.
Qualifications
Strong skills in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and assessments for visual acuity, eye health, and related conditions.
Proficiency in documenting thorough medical evaluations and preparing detailed reports adhering to professional and regulatory guidelines.
Knowledge of and compliance with medical regulations and best practices, particularly relevant to the Department of Veterans Affairs standards.
Effective communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills for interacting with Veterans with respect and empathy.
Licensure as an Optometrist in the state of Hawaii is required.
Previous experience working with Veterans or understanding of the disability claims process is advantageous.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
