Plant Manager - Industrial Gas
Our client is hiring a Plant Manager to join their world‑class Industrial Gas operations.
Overview:
Our client is seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to oversee safe, compliant, and efficient operations at a multi‑unit industrial gas production facility. This site includes air separation units, liquid production assets, and a regional trucking fleet supporting customers across the Midwest. This is a front-line operations role requiring occasional off‑hours availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead safe, reliable, and profitable daily operations.
Achieve fixed/variable cost targets and deliver productivity improvements.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, Illinois EPA, and all internal policies.
Manage a team of 15 FTEs and 20+ professional drivers, including full involvement in any CBA-related responsibilities.
Oversee maintenance planning, reliability programs, and execution of capital and expense projects.
Partner with logistics to ensure efficient product distribution across the Midwest.
Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and support teams.
Drive employee development, training, and long-term workforce planning.
Respond quickly to operational issues and coordinate needed resources.
Represent the site in community and professional engagements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Engineering or related field).
7+ years’ experience in manufacturing, chemicals, industrial gases, or similar environment.
Strong decision-making skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building ability.
Self‑starter with a drive for continuous improvement and execution.
