Production Manager - Specialty Chemicals

About the Company

Our client, one of the largest independent U.S. manufacturers and suppliers of chemicals and related services has an immediate need for an experienced chemical/plastics/food Production Manager to provide manufacturing supervision at their soon be expanding South Carolina (near greater Greenville/Spartanburg) based production facility.

About the Role

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will lead a team of production operators and warehouse personnel. This is a full time, on site role working Mon - Friday, first shift. No weekends required. Interested candidates must be bilingual, English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day specialty chemical production activities with a focus on safety, environmental compliance and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Ensure adherence to quality requirements for all products.
• Provide leadership and training for production operators, perform employee evaluations and provide coaching as required.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work to achieve improvement targets.
• Create and maintain procedures, batch records, job aids and training documents.
• Review production schedules and ensure customer requirements are satisfied.
• Collaborate with plant and corporate management to achieve safety, quality, efficiency and cost objectives for the plant.
• Complete actions items from customer complaints, incidents and enact MOCs as per required timing.
• Serve on emergency response team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or business related discipline.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.
• At least five years of experience supervising production personnel in a chemical, food or plastics manufacturing facility.
• Prior working knowledge of ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Prior experience operating forklifts is preferred.
