Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer requirements for a manufacturing organization in Lake Zurich. This role leads internal and external audits, supports engineering and production teams, and partners with customers and suppliers to ensure consistent quality performance. This is a fully onsite position.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct internal and supplier quality audits in accordance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and all customer requirements
• Lead and prepare the organization for audits throughout the year, ensuring documentation and processes remain compliant
• Participate in customer and third‑party audits
• Maintain all quality records and documentation in support of manufacturing plants and remote locations
• Maintain, review, and update customer portals, including customer‑specific requirements and scorecards
• Support engineering efforts by participating in process design and development projects, representing quality and customer requirements
• Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodologies, quality plans, and reports
• Travel to customer sites as needed (approximately 3 trips annually) and travel once per year to facilities in Mexico and China

Qualifications

• Experience working within an IATF 16949 certified environment
• Proven experience leading audits and maintaining ongoing compliance readiness
• Background in metal stamping (progressive stamping strongly preferred) or injection molding
• Manufacturing quality engineering experience required
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
• Comfortable working in a 100% onsite environment

Salary Range: $70,000–$85,000
