Our client is a rapidly growing consumer products company that specializes in launching and scaling innovative brands across categories such as beauty, personal care, wellness, and lifestyle. The company partners with founders, retailers, and strategic stakeholders to develop products, build brand strategy, and drive growth through both digital and retail channels.
They are looking for a passionate, organized and detail-oriented Senior Manager of Accounting to join their fun, hard-working, results-driven, creative and collaborative Accounting team! Reporting into the VP Controller, the Sr. Manager of Accouting will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations across the organization. This role will focus on process improvements, streamlining operations, month end close, financial statement preparations, and communication across departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Manage technical accounting areas including inventory obsolescence, ASC 842 lease accounting, and non-controlling interests (NCI).
Lead audit processes, coordinating schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Supervise and develop Staff Accountants and AP/AR team members, improving processes and strengthening controls.
Oversee e-commerce sales reporting and reconciliations, including ERP mapping review to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
Manage multi-state sales tax compliance in partnership with Avalara, ensuring accurate reconciliations and filings.
Collaborate with FP&A to analyze budget-to-actual results and investigate variances.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within accounting operations.
Lead implementation of system enhancements and automation initiatives.
Strengthen internal controls and continuously improve reporting accuracy and transparency.
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA Required
5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Experience managing accounting staff.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
The position is currently remote. Over time, there may be an opportunity for the role to transition to a hybrid or onsite arrangement as the organization continues to expand.
