Senior Sql Database Administrator

Must be local to TX

Skills: SQL (Core), Azure cloud

Role & Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and maintain enterprise databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security
• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching across environments
• Handle backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and routine health checks
• Tune complex SQL queries, indexes, and database performance issues
• Implement and enforce database security, access controls, and compliance standards
• Work closely with application, DevOps, and cloud teams to support deployments and releases
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions with minimal downtime
• Prepare and maintain database documentation, SOPs, and runbooks

Salesforce (Add-On Responsibilities)

• Support Salesforce data operations, including data loads, exports, and integrations
• Work with Salesforce teams on data synchronization between Salesforce and SQL databases
• Assist in troubleshooting Salesforce data issues and reporting discrepancies
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across Salesforce and backend systems

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in SQL (query optimization, indexing, performance tuning)
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL / SQL Server / PostgreSQL / Oracle)
• Expertise in backup, recovery, and database monitoring tools
• Good understanding of production support, SLAs, and incident management
• Ability to work independently and handle client-facing responsibilities

Good to Have / Add-On Skills

• Salesforce data model understanding and integration experience
• Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL)
• Knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell / PowerShell / Python)
• Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
