There are now 7M developers using Supabase. Signups have been accelerating since the start of the year Our growth rate right now is as fast as it was during YC, except that we are doing it from a base of millions of developers instead of thousands
7M developers but how many of them are AIs?
Would be super insightful to break down paying users vs free. Supabase has such a generous free tier and easy setup from Cursor, you can create unlimited Vercel + Supabase free projects without any coding knowledge.
As an early user, happy to see this platform growing so much 💯
Huge milestone 👏 I actually explored integrating Supabase into craft.fast stack recently, but found it harder to maintain and scale cleanly in a multi-project setup — ended up going with Neon for now. That said, Supabase’s dev experience is still one of the best out there. Feels like the next unlock could be making it more platform-friendly (especially for builders creating apps on top of it, not just using it directly). Curious if that’s something you’re thinking about — would unlock a lot of new use cases.
Let’s go!
A million developers or million agents
I’m curious why others prefer to use Supabase. I did a few projects to understand it better but tbh the "old way" of using SQLite is more than enough for 99% of vibe coded apps. Then there is Firebase that Supabase was supposed to replace - that one comes at a fraction of the Supabase cost (although it also has its own disadvantages). I wonder what is David Heinemeier Hansson take on Supabase?

1moI would assume many came from vibe coding that uses supabase as default option especially for website generation, I can see many of these project leave open access to whole db content, maybe it would be good if you create some tools that check projects to warn those user about full public data exposure.
