Citation formats

As of 2025, JavaScript and HTML/CSS are the most commonly used programming languages among software developers around the world, with more than 66 percent of respondents stating that they used JavaScript and just around 61.9 percent using HTML/CSS. Python, SQL, and Bash/Shell rounded out the top five most widely used programming languages around the world.
