Nearly unreadable on Kindle app

Nearly unreadable on Kindle app
I typically don't buy programming books anymore, but I needed to review some previously-used Web Forms coding and terminology in order to prep for an upcoming interview. Instead of trying to collect everything from online sources, I thought five bucks was a deal for the Kindle version, and most of the info would already be collected in one place. Since coding books sometimes have layout issues in the code examples, I was prepared for some readability problems - or so I thought. Every. Single. Table. Is. Broken. I wish I was making that up. Instead of there being a typical table grid layout, all the contents of EVERY table are simply a long list of disconnected words and phrases. Also, in order for the line breaks in the code samples to work correctly, it has to be viewed in landscape mode. That would be less of an issue if it didn't contain 1K+ pages. Happy scrolling, customers! (And in case you're wondering, things are even worse when using Kindle for PC, since there's no landscape mode to widen the layout.) Why scrolling, you might ask? Why not just go to the TOC and click the link for each section or chapter? Because there are almost no links in it, including the link to the TOC itself. The ones that do work simply take you to a second link-free TOC (see attached screenshots). Fortunately, there are still large portions of the content that are still usable - as long as you like setting lots of bookmarks in order to navigate among them. Kindle's Notebook isn't just a feature in this case, it's a requirement. Since Wrox greenlit this train wreck I doubt that they care, but if the authors aren't embarrassed by this, they should be. The $5 cutout bin pricing is no excuse.

The first picture in this review is supposed to be a diagram. Instead it's a list of nodes within the diagram. The second picture is from the table of contents. Some entries have titles, most don't. Some have hyperlinks, most don't. The table of contents is unusable.

This may be the worst Kindle formatting I have ever seen. The authors deserve better.

Only get this book if you're willing to work hard to decipher it.

The problem with books like this, is that the author assumes that you already know all about ASP.NET and VB programming. I have hardly used this book at all. It really does not explain things to those of us who are still learning. And if you already know how to program, why do you need this book? Not a book to lean from. This reminds me of those water drop guys I find on the internet who I find totally useless. I don't even find this book good for reference because the index could be greatly improved.
