Gorillaz – Demon Days

I was a bit disappointed with the record because I feel the vocals are poorly mastered. They don't sound completely clean (even knowing that Demon Days has several tracks with vocal effects) and there are times when they sound too quiet. There are several instances of sibilance and the vinyl isn't 100% quiet. I hope it's just my pressing, because it's a real shame not being able to enjoy the two beautiful tracks that close the album.
​I love the bass, the packaging is beautiful although the inner sleeves are wider than the gatefold pockets.
​Disc 2 features transitions from All Alone to White Light and between the last three tracks on Side D.
​I probably won't listen to it again.

Other than Kids With Guns and El Manana sounding very compressed, it's a good sounding record. The more popular songs such as DARE, Feel Good Inc, and Dirty Harry are the better sounding songs in terms of quality. I should also note that while the lack of transitions on A/B is disappointing, it has the transitions on the last three songs. I've also never had an issue with the locked groove, but that's just me.

can somebody explain to me why this particular version is considered to be a reissue? it was released in the same year

Mostly an excellent sounding record, and a very clean pressing on near-silent vinyl. I say mostly, because I also have the issue of Kids with Guns and El Mañana sounding dull/flat. Now I will say that on my first spin when it was playing 'on the side' I missed it, but the second time when I was listening more carefully I noticed it. It's a real shame, but personally it's not so bad that it's not getting another spin. Really appreciate the transitions though.

Absolutely beautiful record, absolutely beautiful pressing. Deep, deep bass and a fantastic dynamic range, not to mention this is arguably Gorillaz' finest record musically. On top of that, this pressing has transitions! This was a massive reason for me buying this particular pressing - the transitions really glue the album together, as opposed to earlier masters which would leave really long gaps between certain tracks which killed a lot of momentum. Absolute essential record for any collection.

(PS: If you, like me, are a stickler for the transitions, look for the "Made in Czech Republic" and the 4 lines of text on the back ending with an email address, like in the photos)

does this sound any different than the original album or is the only thing about it the missing 2D on the CD

I love this album so much but I’ve bought two different copies of this album and haven’t listened past the first side on either because it skips so badly. I don’t know if it’s a problem with the pressing or what, but it sucks majorly.

Really happy with this pressing. A bit of crackle (typical of GZ Media records) but it’s not really noticeable when the music starts, and the music really sounds excellent. Punchy, much more dynamic than the streaming/CD version, and a good amount of low end that makes this record my favourite way to listen to the album. The CD and streaming versions are from the loudness war, and they sound pretty compressed and squashed, but this is great and probably the best quality you can hear the album in right now (don’t know about the OG pressing as I don’t have it). Great reissue, definitely get it if you’re a Gorillaz fan, it has great audio quality and is a great alternative to the expensive original pressing. The transitions between tracks are also present on this release. 5/5!
