  • Mentally, we’re still there! 🇮🇳 From packed panels to buzzing happy hours to our nonstop booth, WordCamp Asia delivered. The WordPress community showed up and showed out; another reminder that what powers this platform is its people. It was incredible seeing you demo our products and meet the teams behind them IRL, including WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Pressable, and Jetpack. Plus, seeing you all pack our panels and sessions with excitement and interest. Perhaps most importantly, those serendipitous hallway moments where old friends come together and new friendships are made. That’s what it’s about. A huge thank you to the Automattic organizers, panelists, and behind-the-scenes teams who helped make it happen. And an equally huge thank you to every attendee, from first-timers to regulars, who brought the energy. We’re especially grateful to the volunteers who kept everything running. From ecosystem leaders to curious newcomers, there was a place for everyone in Mumbai—and with WordPress. 🇮🇳We hope you enjoy these Day 3 snaps! 🇮🇳What was your favorite WordCamp Asia moment? Comment below! 🇮🇳Next up: WordCamp Europe. Stay tuned.

  • Day two of WordCamp Asia is officially a wrap! 🌏 It was an incredible day of connection and collaboration in Mumbai, India. The WordPress community came together to share ideas and push the boundaries of what the open web can do. We loved the energy at the Automattic booth, where attendees demoed our products and met the teams behind them IRL, including: 🇮🇳AI-native new features WordPress.com (with a MacBook Neo up for grabs) 🇮🇳The latest in ecommerce from WooCommerce 🇮🇳Chai tea and hosting insights from Pressable 🇮🇳Oh, and Jetpack...we can’t stop th(ink)ing about those custom totes! 🇮🇳Plus, so much more! Beyond our booth, there were so many sessions, panels, and familiar faces all together again–and plenty of new faces, too. Community is the heartbeat of WordPress, and today proved it once again.💙 👉Stop by tomorrow for your last chance at trivia, swag, and more. 👉Stay tuned for the closing keynote from Matt Mullenweg! 👉Favorite part of WordCamp Asia? • Shaping the future, together. 💙 What’s on the horizon for WordPress and its global community? This was the central question of today’s WordCamp Asia fireside chat from Mary Hubbard, Executive Director of the WordPress Project, and moderator Shilpa Shah. Their discussion included the thoughtful integration of AI, the next generation of contributors, and the evolving role of community in the open source ecosystem. “It’s very important to leverage our human capital and then integrate AI into anything that could be operationa,” Mary shared. 🎙️ It was a powerful dialogue on steering the WordPress Project with intention and inclusivity. For those who attended, what was your key takeaway?

The first day of WordCamp Asia was about giving back. 💙 Every WordCamp starts with Contributor Day, and WordCamp Asia in Mumbai, India, was no different. Just hours ago, 1,200-plus members of the WordPress community signed up to build, design, code, and improve the software that powers the open web.  From our leaders at WordPress.com, Jetpack, WooCommerce, and WordPress VIP to the sharpest minds in the developer ecosystem, there’s no hierarchy here. Just a vast group of builders and creators making the largest CMS in the world even better. Everyone has a seat at the table, whether it is your first time contributing or your 50th. We are so proud to be part of a community that boasts powerful websites, customizable themes, and tens of thousands of plugins, and that also improves the platform behind them, together. 💻 Swipe through for some of our favorite Contributor Day moments. More to come as #WordCampAsia continues through Saturday! #WCAsia

  • Extra, extra! Today is the first-ever Local News Day. 🗞️ While national news has never been more crucial, local news tells you what is happening right on your street. Nearly 3,500 U.S. newspapers and more than 270,000 jobs have disappeared since 2005—it’s time to bridge the gap. Local News Day centers on a simple idea: in a world flooded with information, local reporters are the ones verifying what is real on the ground. It’s a nationwide day of action to digitally support and grow original local reporting. As a proud sponsor alongside WordPress.com and Newspack, Automattic is committed to strengthening the technology that keeps local journalism alive. But technology is only half the battle—these newsrooms need readers and supporters. We join a national coalition of 1,300+ outlets, including Montana Free Press, Press Forward, and American Journalism Project, in making this moment matter. Today is a reminder to find that source and support it. See how to get involved below. Plus, we built a Newsroom Locator Tool to make it easier than ever to find, follow, and support the original reporting happening in your own backyard. 🔗Try the Newsroom Locator Tool: https://lnkd.in/eeUf-KP3  🔗Join the movement: https://lnkd.in/eRyC5RpE

Culture over competition. 🏆 Our response to the TikTok ban with We are Rival is a Shorty Awards finalist. Instead of chasing trends, we celebrated the Communities that create them. Last year's “DC Inauguration Blitz” was built on a simple premise: culture is better when it’s co-created, not algorithmically dictated—the result: an 18% DAU increase. We’re honored to be recognized in the Other Platform Partnership category, and we’d love your vote! 👉Vote here: https://lnkd.in/engWZcUJ

  • The countdown is on. Two days until we celebrate the inaugural Local News Day! The newspaper ecosystem is fragile. Since 2005, nearly 3,500 U.S. newspapers have disappeared, which left one in four Americans with limited access to local reporting. Automattic has long supported journalism through platforms like Newspack, WordPress.com, The Atavist Magazine, and Longreads. Now, we join Montana Free Press, Press Forward, and American Journalism Project to help readers reconnect with the newsrooms that cover city hall and neighborhood stories. On 4/9, let’s spotlight local reporting and newsrooms across the country. Find ways to get involved below. Plus, we’ve built a Newsroom Locator Tool to help you find original reporting in your zip code. We hope you’ll join this nonpartisan day of action. 🔗 Find your newsroom: https://lnkd.in/eeUf-KP3  🔗 Join the movement: https://lnkd.in/eRyC5RpE

  • Leadership isn't a solo sport; it’s something you cultivate. Paolo Belcastro, the Artistic Director for Domains Maison at Automattic, didn’t learn to lead in a business school classroom. His leadership style was forged in the real-world, distributed environment here at Automattic through our executive coaching program. In his latest reflection on our Automattic Newsroom blog, Paolo breaks down how 10 years of executive coaching became the one thing that changed how he works. He details how he evolved from explaining remote work concepts in his initial coaching sessions to using a structured, five or six-cycle approach of clear goal setting, action, and honest assessment. This transparent account of personal growth provides a detailed blueprint for driving meaningful progress through intentional mentorship and coaching in a remote-first organization. 💙 Read his full perspective on our structured coaching program: https://lnkd.in/eeTtS8Gn
