Nope & Yep

I talked to Hynes last week, and this specific subject was brought up. Most of the chat was off the record, but I can tell you that this isn't true unless he completely - and I do mean completely - changed his mind in the past few days.
Dem data: Sneed is told popular state Comptroller Dan Hynes' camp is quietly giving thought to Dan jumping into the Dem primary against Gov. Blago. Hmmm.

This, by Crain's political columnist Greg Hinz, is true, however.
In a potential gesture to Mr. Madigan, State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka, the early front-runner for the GOP guberna-torial nomination, may announce she'd serve only one term, sources close to her say. That means the Governor's Mansion would be open for Ms. Madigan in 2010.

You'll have to pay a few bucks to read the whole thing.

Hynes' zero personality would be a drawback but his wife, a physician, would look pretty good
in oppo to Mrs. Blago and her iffy real estate dealings.

Sneed is an idiot. Why does the
S-T keep her on.

I suppose JBT could say that she is going to clean up the government in 4 years without the pressure of re-election. A lot of ads showing JBT buying at garage sales could be pretty powerful given Blago's wasteful ways.

The JBT commitment to serve only one term is significant.

It means that the Dems will have a clean shot at the Governor's mansion in 2010, allowing for the possibility of a Dem Governor to sign the resdistricting. Redistricting probably comes in a strong second place to assuring L Madigan a shot at the Governor's mansion.

Hynes could win for governor

but he needs to shed the Joyce and Sheehan baggage
and the racist baggage of his dad

but Hynes has done a good job and has grown into his post and outgrown his background

Hynes is a gentleman, Joyce is a thug
