The songs ("CARMINA") were divided into three primary sections: Springtime - the life force renewed; In the Tavern - drinking and gambling; The Court of Love - passion, sensuality. The sections are pervaded and framed by The Wheel of Fortune ("O Fortuna") perpetually turning, perpetually governing the course of man's existence.
In 1983 Ray Manzarek, long attracted to the spiritual power of Carmina Burana, chose to interpret the piece in a contemporary framework. This presentation intends to create enchanted pictures; to conjure up the ecstasy expressed by the lyrics, an enhanced intense feeling for life akin to the passions and revelry of the wandering poets of so long ago

FORD THEATRE - 1968 TRILOGY FOR THE MASS.
Ford Theatre was a psychedelic rock band from Boston, USA that were active in between 1966 and 1971.
The band got its start as a band called The Continentals, which formed around 1961.
Five years later, with the addition of two new members, they changed their name to Ford Theatre
After releasing two LPs on ABC Records the band didn't manage to get a new deal for a third album, so the members decided to disband Ford Theatre in 1971.

THE STORY:
Sweet Smoke were a 1960's and 70's progressive jazz-rock band. They incorporated many different influences, such as jazz, funk and island rhythms.
They were originally formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1967, although the band moved to live as a commune in Germany before the decade was out
When the members decided to know themselves, India, Yoga and Gurus followed, including the majority of the band moving to an ashram in India for close to a year to learn the esoteric art of Yoga and meditation.

DUANE BETTS - 2026 ISLE OF HOPE.
Duane Betts carries the legacy of the Allman Brothers Band, those great proponent of Southern rock with songs that stretched out like guitar-driven southern drawl. His father, guitarist Dickey Betts, named his son after the elder Allman who tragically died in a motorcycle crash in 1971.
And Duane sure has his father’s chops as those who went to see Dawes at the Tuning Fork in 2015 found out when they discovered Betts Jr was part of the touring band.
And now we have Betts’ second record: Isle of Hope. Produced by Dave Cobb whose awards and credits are extensive. He’s produced Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell and the last record by the late great John Prine. And now adds his golden touch to Betts’ effort.
The album reflects a time of crossroads for Betts in the wake of losing his father and Allman Brothers co-founder. As Betts comments: In these anxious times in the world, music is always a sanctuary and gives people a feeling of purpose and strength.
There’s certainly purpose and strength in these tracks. Allman-esque Southern rock meets languid laid-back rootsy riffs. First up is Heartache. Yearning, tender and resigned with a refrain of There is nothing you can do. Submission to the stark reality of grief laid bare.. Nothing maudlin here though. Remember, music is the sanctuary, the island of hope.
Reckless has Betts singing with full feeling and Florida drawl acknowledging times when he’s needed to be pulled out, as if from a mire of mud. Times of not quite making it to the island.
And that isle is real: Its a two-square-mile patch carved into shape by the Skidaway River, a tidal reach in Georgia’s low country.
Defying the grimness of its title, the song Into the Void has a paradoxical optimism. As if you have to fall to then stand taller. The river runs down in the valley, is a metaphor for the constants of the natural world. The keyboard and guitar wail suggest a welcome lineage to the Allmans and Little Feat.
The jauntiest track is Pills and Liquor a song of great levity celebrating newfound sobriety. Then a quick shift to the piano accompanied Silver Afternoon, replete with memory, longing and the warmth of an American July.
First single Down to Houston is a rocking celebration of the road, full of cliche like white lines but forgiven with their overlaid jangle of guitars as only an ace Southern musician can assemble.
Betts’ slightly nasal voice keeps drawing us in and the portal is lined with sonic richness. The producer’s strong hand is evident: Best Wishes hints of the Allmans’ Brother and Sisters, but it’s a richer mix. And the land and muse join in a soundscape unique to his Betts’ Florida upbringing in Manatee River, an ode to another waterway. Slow moving like the water and affectionate recollections. There have been many songs about rivers but this is one of the more passionate.
Winners of War takes us down a notch in intensity. And a looking back with hearty guitar strums and piano keys. A personal story laid bare for the many. Gorgeous notwithstanding its sadness.
The last track leaves the album going out on a rocking note. Keep My Hands Clean. An image, perhaps, for good living: a moving forward and gratitude for that island of hope
Songs of place and personal redemption in the face of loss. May Betts find his way from his island to ours before long.
