out of this world: In This World

Now here you have some Russian Jazz. I'm far from being an expert in Jazz from Russia but I guess there must be tons out there. Only have some Allegro, Arsenal, Bumerang and Kutsenko, ... and here is my fave among them: The Allegro Jazz Ensemble's "In This World" from 1981. Powerful sound with partly funky rhythms and some solid synths.... and then there's that bass in the last tune......... Both sides are suites, but I dared to divide them into parts.
Cheers!

Gelatenheid

Here's a lovely Jazz LP from the short lived "Dutch Treat" led by infamous Jan Huydts on keys and synths. Check out his recordings with the group "Third Eye" if you don't them already - amazing fusion stuff.... now Tranquility is the name of this album here and that's what it sounds like. A lesson in subtle finesse. Short and precise song structures instead of noodling it to death ... and then comes the drum solo....  but still you'll have your gentle wahwah guitars, funky flutes and bossa synths. Off to dreamland ....  Cheers, Basso

check out 678records who released never heard before tracks from Jan Huydts (together with Rob Franken and Henk Zomer) called KEYBOARD CIRCLE. they have soundclips and these sound amazing.....

Floating

As a follow up to Cesare's post here's more of the fantastic Monika Linges and her quartet. All killer, no filler and in my humble opinion nothing less than Kitty and Raffaela - even prices for og copies are affordable compared to the expensive ladies just mentioned. Cheers!

Buy....

Orbital Star

Not without a good portion of melancholy I am posting this wonderful & romantically rare album. Just recently a friend of the bin Jamie tried to contact Li Garattoni after also finding a copy of this album. He had to find out she had already passed away in 2004 - far too early. When he told me I had to think of one track from this LP - "Orbital Star". It might be a nice thing to think of Li Garattoni as a star orbiting around earth now. I hardly know anything about her (well, her sign was Taurus), but her lyrics and music touched me and when I listen to it she's still here......

buy it, buy it, buy it

Please be so kind and save me from further reup requests. you can buy most of the tunes officially and the money goes to her family.....
