Haida Indian Language

Haida is a Northwest Coast language of British Columbia and Alaska whose origin is uncertain. Many linguists have considered it to be an Na-Dene language distantly related to Tlingit and the Athabaskan languages, but others consider it an isolate (a language unrelated to any other language). Fewer than a hundred elders speak the Haida Indian language fluently today, but some young Haida people are working to keep their ancestral language alive.
