  • Strengthening Customs enforcement in the e-commerce domain As e-commerce continues to transform global trade, it is creating new opportunities for illicit and criminal activities. The latest publication of the WCO Illicit Trade Report 2025 confirmed this revealing that e-commerce is now accounting for almost 50% of all reported illicit trade cases worldwide. In response to this shift the WCO has launched the new Enforcement e-CENcomm Platform, a closed and dedicated platform for WCO Members to support secure information sharing and cooperation on e-commerce-related enforcement matters. On 9 October 2026, 128 National Contact Points representing 105 Customs administrations joined the official online launch of this new platform.            What is the Enforcement e-CENcomm Platform? The platform provides a closed and dedicated hub for Customs administrations to access, share and exchange relevant information on Customs enforcement in the e-commerce environment. The platform will help Customs administrations to: ·        Stay ahead of emerging threats and strengthen their understanding of e-commerce-related risks; ·        Exchange information securely and efficiently within the Customs community and; ·        Build enforcement capacity and share best practices across WCO Members. This launch represents an important milestone in strengthening international Customs cooperation and supporting Members in addressing the evolving challenges associated with e-commerce. #WCO #Customs #CustomsEnforcement #eCommerce #CENcomm #CustomsCooperation #CapacityBuilding #IllicitTrade #InternationalCooperation

  • 🗓️ Brussels, 5–6 October 2026 The WCO Joint ATA/Istanbul Administrative Committee met this week to advance the implementation and digitalization of international temporary admission procedures. With the global transition to the digital ATA Carnet now underway, Customs administrations, National Guaranteeing Associations and the International Chamber of Commerce shared practical experiences and lessons learned since the first group of countries began officially accepting digital ATA Carnets on 1 June 2026. Discussions also looked ahead to the preparations of administrations that have yet to transition to the digital system. The transition to digital ATA Carnets is expected to make temporary admission procedures more efficient and secure by reducing reliance on paper documents, improving the traceability of Customs transactions and facilitating the processing and verification of Carnets. Continued cooperation among Customs administrations, the WCO, ICC and FIA will remain central to supporting the transition towards more efficient and digitally enabled temporary admission procedures.
