A 340% increase in transaction processing throughput. More than 50% faster Close of Business processing. Downstream processing and reporting times reduced by 50-75%. For PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. (BSI), these were the outcomes of transforming its core banking platform with Temenos. Building on its long-standing investment in Temenos technology, BSI modernized its architecture to support future growth at scale. The platform's ability to support end-to-end banking operations while accommodating BSI's Sharia banking requirements was another important part of that journey. The digital euro may still be several years away, but the complexity of preparing for it is difficult to ignore. A key challenge will be making infrastructure decisions today that meet the digital euro's requirements while remaining flexible for what's next. One decision many banks are already weighing is where digital euro capabilities should sit. Should they be embedded within core banking, or managed through a standalone layer? Both approaches come with different implications for integration, modernization and future flexibility. In his latest blog, Mick Fennell explores some of the considerations behind that choice and what banks should be preparing for now. https://lnkd.in/e_ACDe2d

AI is changing how customers interact with financial services. Tokenization is transforming the foundations of how money and assets move. As both continue to gain momentum, what does that mean for the role banks play? Temenos experts Mick Fennell and Kaue Tozzi shared their perspective at Sibos.
-
As Sibos wraps up, two themes stood out: tokenization and agentic AI. Throughout the week, Temenos experts Kaue Tozzi and Mick Fennell joined industry discussions on how these are increasingly converging and what that means moving forward. AI is transforming the experience layer. Tokenization is reshaping the infrastructure layer. Together, they're driving new questions around how money and value move, how risk is managed, and how banks support an increasingly diverse ecosystem of assets. The conversation has shifted from what's possible to what's practical. But it all comes back to trust. As technology evolves, banks will continue to play a critical role in helping customers navigate risk, interoperability, and regulation. Thanks to our clients, partners, and industry peers for the conversations in Miami.

Temenos' Mick Fennell has spent his career close to the machinery of payments, and there's one point he keeps coming back to. It's not the easiest message to hear when you're already in the middle of a modernization program, and that's exactly why it deserves attention. A perspective we'll be exploring further at #Sibos.

Every payments team we speak to is being pulled in four directions at once. Scale, risk, regulation, and whatever the next form of value turns out to be. We're curious which one is having the biggest impact on priorities this year. We'll pick up the theme at #Sibos and bring the results with us.
