What if factories could plan, adapt and optimize production with the help of #AI? 🤖🏭 The future of industry is taking shape in Erlangen, Germany. Together with NVIDIA, we’re bringing #IndustrialAI to the factory floor, combining AI, #DigitalTwins, and automation to make #Manufacturing more adaptive, efficient and resilient. At Siemens Electronics Factory in Erlangen, Germany, new applications are already delivering tangible potential: → More than 100 AI algorithms are already running in real production → Up to 40% faster time-to-market by preparing production processes in the virtual world – weeks before physical prototypes are available. → Up to 20% cost savings through AI-supported, agentic production planning. Our Erlangen factory serves as a blueprint for industrial AI, demonstrating how virtual and real production environments can work together to accelerate innovation and help factories respond faster to changing demands. Our ambition with NVIDIA: building the AI operating system of manufacturing.

3 important priorities in order to combine #AI with industrial data, deep engineering expertise and technologies that solve real problems on the shop floor. Two industry leaders, Roland Busch, our President and CEO, and CEO of Festo Thomas Böck, sat down to discuss how AI is opening up new possibilities for #Manufacturing: 1️⃣ Make AI deliver measurable value. From predictive maintenance to improved product quality and energy efficiency, industrial AI can help manufacturers reduce downtime, optimize operations and increase productivity. 2️⃣ Bring complementary strengths together. Siemens’ expertise in automation, control and digital twins, combined with Festo’s capabilities in pneumatic and electric motion, creates a strong foundation for the next generation of autonomous production. 3️⃣ Turn potential into practical applications – fast. Industrial AI requires more than powerful models. It depends on access to industrial data, collaboration across technology boundaries and the ability to bring solutions to market quickly. The opportunity is to move beyond machines that simply follow instructions towards systems that can learn, adapt and optimize their own operations. What do you see as the biggest opportunity for industrial AI on the shop floor? 👇

2883 meters above sea level and surrounded by glaciers... ❄️🏔️ How do you manage a building you can't reach? With Building X, the Monte Rosa mountain hut in Switzerland 🇨🇭 can be managed remotely and withstands the harshest weather, even in times when nobody can reach it. #SiemensXcelerator

A look back at where it started, and how far #IndustrialAutomation has come. Here’s a glimpse of #SINUMERIK in action in the 1980s. Even then, SINUMERIK was setting standards for precision and control in industrial automation. Since then, the technology has continuously evolved alongside manufacturing itself. What began as robust, reliable hardware for engineers and skilled workers has developed into today’s intelligent, software-driven solutions. What hasn’t changed? The SINUMERIK family continues to power advanced machine tools and help manufacturers move toward smarter, more connected production. Do you remember working with early SINUMERIK systems? Share your experience with us. 👇

Cyber threats don’t clock out. Neither can industrial cybersecurity. 🚨 Our global team of around 1,300 cybersecurity experts is on guard. A key example: our Cyber Defense Center (CDC) in Suzhou, China, where the team is: → Monitoring industrial networks to detect suspicious activity → Using #AI to analyze mass data and flag high-risk behavior → Investigating potential incidents and responding → Combining security by design with human expertise Our approach is #proactive defense: detect threats earlier, respond with greater precision and continuously strengthen our defenses. #Cyber threats are evolving. So too should be the industrial defense. How can industry combine AI and human expertise to strengthen cyber defense?

Our Social Media Team is out of office today, but they left clear instructions: keep the posts coming. So here's a look at a few things we're proud of: our trains, robots, our factories, and the products that we love to produce. Take a look through, and tell us in the comments: what would you give this content out of 10?

The smarter #rail becomes, the more there is to protect. 🛤️ As AI becomes more integral to critical industries such as rail, securing its use in operations and maintenance is essential to safeguarding passenger and freight transportation. That is why we build #Cybersecurity into the AI lifecycle from the start, using red teaming, penetration testing and human oversight. In rail, trust cannot be assumed. It has to be engineered. What new standards will be needed before AI can take on more operational responsibility?

Driverless trains aren't a concept for the future. Some have been running for years. Across the world, #AutonomousInfrastructure is quietly learning to run itself. Trains that manage their own speed and spacing. Power grids that predict demand before it spikes. #SmartBuildings that adjust their own systems to save energy and keep people comfortable. People stay in control. Intelligent systems handle the routine work, so operators can focus on what actually needs a decision. Cities run more smoothly. Grids become more resilient. Buildings get more efficient, all without building from scratch.

Vietnam is about to make train history. 🇻🇳 No national high-speed #rail network has combined automatic train operation with ETCS Level 2 signaling before. We've signed a turnkey contract with VINSPEED for two high-speed lines: Hanoi–Quang Ninh (121 km) and Ben Thanh–Can Gio (54 km). Worth up to €1 billion, it turns our 2025 strategic partnership with VinSpeed into steel and track. ▶️10 Velaro Novo trains, running at up to 350 km/h ▶️760 seats per train which is 10% more capacity ▶️30% less energy than earlier generations VinSpeed builds the track and civil works. We deliver the trains, #signaling, communications and #electrification, in phases. Combined with automatic train spacing, sharper braking and acceleration control, we are offering a new benchmark for how high-speed rail networks run.

In the Namibian desert, sunlight is being turned into fuel for trucks, tractors, and port equipment. 🌞 Solar power drives an electrolyzer that splits water into hydrogen and oxygen. The pilot plant currently runs at 5 megawatts. It's designed to scale to 500 megawatts, large enough to produce green ammonia for ocean-going ships, an alternative to marine diesel. Shipping is one of the hardest industries to decarbonize. Any alternative fuel needs to be produced at a scale ships can use, and run reliably enough for daily operations. That reliability depends on what happens behind the scenes. Siemens provided the automation, control systems, and digital backbone for the plant, which now runs 80% automated as it prepares to scale. A small pilot in the desert, built with global shipping in mind.
