Asymmetric services
[edit]The greater number of services southbound compared to northbound is strange for shuttle service, but confirmed by the timetable which suggest the first five trains each day return empty when they could use codes ST62, ST64, ST66, ST68, ST70. Presumably more people commute daily from Johur to Singapore than in the opposite direction, but having the first service southbound at 05:00 and the first passenger service northbound at 08:30 looks very peculiar. Is there something political involved? 2A00:23C6:1492:7A01:C1C6:2CF2:A447:BE4C (talk) 16:14, 30 August 2025 (UTC)
- The reason for this service pattern is because of extremely high demand of commuters from Johor into Singapore in the morning. The influx of people means it's more profitable for KTM to turnaround quicker at Singapore and run more morning services into Singapore, as less people from Singapore are going into JB at this time. If they were, they could take the bus. You can see this demand by checking the booking system months in advance - its usually all sold out for these timings. There is more demand both ways in the evening rush, so no weird service pattern exists then. Enews01 (talk) 17:21, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
