Template talk:Siskiyou County, California

PPs, CDPs, and Unicorps

I spent a while today sorting out the various classes, Populated Places, Census Designated Places and Unincorporated places of Siskiyou County and adjusted the template and the main article to match. I also checked the three categories to make sure that each of these occurs in its correct category.

The following is the best list I can make today:

CDPs

• Carrick
• Edgewood
• Gazelle
• Greenview
• Grenada
• Happy Camp
• Hornbrook
• McCloud
• Macdoel
• Mount Hebron
• Tennant

Unincorporated towns

• Bestville
• Big Springs
• Black Butte
• Callahan
• Cecilville
• Forks of Salmon
• Hatfield (partial)
• Horse Creek
• Klamath River
• Little Shasta
• Pondosa
• Scott Bar
• Seiad Valley
• Somes Bar

Populated places (Post office name)

• Black Bear (Sawyer's Bar)

I'm reverting your edits. Any settlement (including Yreka and other cities) that is populated could be generally considered as a "populated place" -- which is unclear. A populated place or settlement in California can be considered a city, a CDP, or an unincorporated community (i.e. place, whether populated or not, that is inside unincorporated territory that is not classified as a CDP). In addition, the Geographic Names Information System also classifies Yreka and other cities as the general "populated places" classification as well. So it is best no to use it here on this template, or on the relevant section of the Siskiyou County, California article. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (talk) 21:23, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Also this is a navigation box for navigation between existing pages, and should not really be a full list to include every single "red link" that is unlikely to be created within the next month. Zzyzx11 (talk) 22:05, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
