Violation?

[edit]

I'm sorry, but I don't see how my edits are in violation of policy.

Removing AISIGNS

[edit]

Hi there, please don't remove AISIGNS like the chatbot block that you removed in Diff/1379488757. That just helps people hide their AI use, and makes the page harder for others to find and request speedy deletion of it. If you don't want to request the G15 deletion yourself, you can just leave it alone and someone else will come and find it. ‑‑gurkubondinn 08:48, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Gurkubondinn: It was a wikitext error, not AI. What are you specifically talking about because I am not a AI text expert? Beyhive Navy (talk) 08:58, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
That article is AI-generated, and that is an AISIGN that meets the G15 criteria. See the WP:AISIGNS/Wikitext wrapped in Markdown code blocks from chatbots page for how it happens. ‑‑gurkubondinn 09:01, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Gurkubondinn: I don’t really know a lot on how to know if text is AI on Wikipedia, but I have seen AI text if it is mostly unsourced and not a copyright violation. On the other hand, it is technically not my fault for removing it because the markup text is caused if they have used visual editing or likely from the AI it came from itself. You said someone else could come and find it, so it is possible even if seen in recent changes or abuse filter 1,369 hits. Here and it does specify AI changes in the filter number, only saying Detects possible Markdown-formatting artifacts (**bold**, *italics*, Markdown links, code fences, etc.) mistakenly left in wikitext. This is often a sign of LLM-assisted editing, but is sometimes just a new editor. Please find this yourself next time through the edit filter or recent changes logs as I’m not very good on detecting AI. Beyhive Navy (talk) 09:51, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it should get caught by that filter normally. But this time it didn't because it wasn't followed by a newline. I'm just telling that this is always an AISIGN, and asking you to please not remove it if you see it again. There is no purpose to removing it (because it means that the whole text fails the WP:NOLLM guideline), you would only be removing a sign that helps people detect this and deal with it appropriately. So please, if you see this again, just leave it as it is. You would be doing me a huge favour. ‑‑gurkubondinn 10:35, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
