Hello , I was looking at a list of 1980s superhero films - and I wanted to know if Albert Pyun’s Captain America (1989 Directors Cut) could be added to the list. The entire film was shot and edited in the 1980s and the film, before the studio input that resulted in the 1990 release, has been released on Blu Ray and it is timestamped 1989 on the back of the Blu ray case
In the first source shows how the entire original film was filmed in the 1980s , The second source is a Rotten Tomatoes interview with Albert Pyun and he was asked about directing a captain America film in the 80s, and the third source is the officially approved release of the 1989 workprint which was completed be for the collapse of Cannon studios, and input from 21st century and Golan entertainment, a workprint complete before the project delays and since this is the 1989 workprint which was released to the public, it makes it a 1989 film WordSheWrote23 (talk) 00:48, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
"List of" articles typically require a topic to have its own article before being featured. I don't think these sources quite show enough notability to warrant its own article; see WP:NFILM for details on film notability criteria. CoconutOctopustalk11:50, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
That’s fair, I guess I can do some more research-and maybe I’ll find something more reputable that fits the criteria, that can justify a standalone article for the unaltered film- if not is it possible that I can Add the 1989 production/ the 2025 unaltered 1989 workprint blu ray release info to the main article- somewhere on the Captain America 1990 film page? Speedy deletion criteria G15 has been renamed from "LLM-generated pages without human review" to "Unambiguously LLM-generated pages" and has an additional sign of detection added to it following a RfC.

Thanks for blocking ~2026-50230-86 - any way you can purge their edits? both what they edited and their change summary messages - it seems a bit odd they are putting my personal website on so many random pages across wikipedia.. Thanks for any help Phil13:07, 17 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I do every time they appear. But they always come back. The downside of temporary accounts, they just get a new one and they are unblocked ready to repeat the process Phil13:17, 17 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello -
When I'm in Talk, I don't see the citation (quotation mark) button. Is it there and I'm just missing it, or is there some other way to add a citation in Talk?

The administrator elections process has officially started! Qualified editors are encouraged to find at least one experienced nominator. Self-nominations are also allowed. Please review instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2026/Candidates.
Here is the schedule:
September 29–October 5: Nominations phase (we are here)
October 8–12: Discussion phase
October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed. However, in practice, few candidates succeed without ~10K edits, some content creation, no recent behavioral issues, and a nominator.
The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. Later, a user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

No problem. In future, avoid edit warring with them (even though it is allowed in a case like this, it's best to just report straight away as it causes less disruption), and just send them straight to AIV. CoconutOctopustalk19:37, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

I stopped editing WP over ten years ago with a recognition that I have a right to be forgotten and already a user in the Arbitration page discussion has brought forward my actual name which he should not have done. I would like to have my talk page restored to the way is was and which was the result of discussion at that time. Following that I will disturb the tranquility of WP no more. Thank you. 1. You didn't stop editing Wikipedia 10 years ago. 2. Your "right" to be forgotten was blown up by your decision to start editing again.Dan Murphy (talk) 01:27, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Please see WP:UTPROT for the official policy on when user talk pages can be protected. It will not be reprotected as it stands, and I suggest you drop this particular stick. Regards, HouseBlaster (talk • edits • he/they)04:04, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I had already said I would not do it, and the discussion was closed. I am not sure why you decided to come ask me specifically on my talk page to do something I had already specifically stated I was against. CoconutOctopustalk16:41, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Following an RfC, late signatures added to administrator recall petitions after 720 hours from opening are reverted or struck and do not count towards the threshold, even if the petition has not yet been formally closed.
The post-May 2026 administrator elections RfCs concluded with consensus for election monitors to curate blatantly inappropriate questions after posting, and to remove or merge true duplicates, clearly marking merged questions. Calls for candidates will include advisory guidance that users with less than one year’s experience or 5,000 edits generally lack a realistic chance of success.
Technical news
Interface administrators no longer need to specify the ResourceLoader option in the definitions for gadgets on MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition as gadgets are always loaded through ResourceLoader. (T298199)
The list=abusefilters API module now supports formatversion=2 and includes breaking changes to its responses. In particular, the actions property is now a JSON array rather than a string, regardless of the format version. Maintainers of user scripts and other code using this module should check compatibility and update their code as needed. (T435828)
Doug Weller passed away on 30 September 2026. Doug Weller began editing Wikipedia in 2006 and became an administrator in 2008, making nearly 275,000 edits over two decades. He served on the Arbitration Committee from 2015 through 2018 and was also a longtime CheckUser and Oversighter.

Hello, I have never uploaded an image to Wiki and wanted to make sure I don't violate any laws. I have recently made a high-rez scan of album cover (Coltrane (1957 album)) and wanted to include it on album's page (picture there is way too dark and looks bad). I assume it goes under non free content umbrella and I'd really aprecciate Your feedback on what to do --Mr. Chamsterous (talk) 10:47, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
As the image is fair use, and thus non-free, we are prohibited from using too high quality an image. If you upload a new version of the image (to the same file), ensure the resolution remains the same as it currently is. CoconutOctopustalk10:50, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
October 2026 Administrator Elections – Discussion Phase
On 13 Oct, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for.
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Hi CoconutOctopus! I hope you're having a great day. I posted suggested edits to the EZCORP Talk page in July of 2026. I do not want to edit the page directly because I am employed by the Company and believe it would be a conflict of interest. Is there a best practice of getting these suggested edits to an editor for review? I appreciate any feedback or advice. Thank you! --Emily at EZCORP (talk) 18:53, 12 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
October 2026 Administrator Elections – Voting Phase
October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase (we are here)
Scrutineering phase
In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote has a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements are similar to those at RFA.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall candidates must achieve 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.
