Rollback granted

[edit]
Image

Hi EndTheWikiEditor. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits. For more information about when rollback is appropriate, see Wikipedia:Rollback § When to use rollback.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the permission will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, and feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate use of rollback. If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin) and Wikipedia:Rollback. Good luck and thanks! TonyBallioni (talk) 17:21, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Amazing, thank you so much! End (talk) 20:44, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

WP:DENY

[edit]

Try not to acknowledge obviöus vandalism as if there is any chance it is legitimate; there is no universe in which that town is actually named "Diddy", and trying to find out if it is will only waste your time and make the vandal's waste of time worth it :) toby (t)(rw) 03:10, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

You're invited to the Mentorship noticeboard

[edit]

Hi, EndTheWikiEditor. You are cordially invited to the brand new Wikipedia:Mentorship noticeboard. I get the impression sometimes that we mentors are each toiling in our own cubbyhole or hamster wheel, quietly answering mentee questions with little to no interaction with other mentors. I think we have a lot to share and learn from each other, and I know it will make me feel better just having the opportunity to interact with you and other mentors there, and I hope it will for you, too. Looking forward to hearing your feedback. Please take the § Survey when you get there! Mathglot (talk) 03:03, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good! Thank you :) End (talk) 01:13, 12 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

You are my new mentor

[edit]

Received an email that you are my new mentor. I am trying to update a lead photo on a page and unable to do so. The page is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aron_Stevens and the photo I am trying to change is the outdated one from 2016 to a newer one. Says I am unable to edit and need another user to edit it for me. Can you change this photo for a newer one of Aron Stevens Haddad? Aron Stevens Haddad (talk) 15:57, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Could you perhaps upload the photo to Wikipedia (maybe on your user page?) so that I could take a look at it? This would also help ensure that it doesn't violate copyright issues. Let me know when you've done that; if it doesn't work, we can try a different way. End (talk) 22:08, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I tried to upload before, but they weren't accepted. Is there a way to just switch out that lead photo for one that is already uploaded to Wikipedia and just overall a better image of Aron Stevens? Are you able to see ones that were already approved that can be selected from? Aron Stevens Haddad (talk) 22:17, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
If the image hasn't been accepted, we can't use it on Wikipedia, sorry. Do you know why it was rejected? It may be because the article in question is protected so only autoconfirmed users can edit it. This means accounts that are 4 days old, and have made mainspace 10+ edits. I recommend trying again after you meet this criteria; there are plenty of tasks on your user home page so you can hit this limit. End (talk) 22:25, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
These photos already saved, can you use either one and replace the lead photo? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Damien_Sandow_Feb_2013.jpg
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Damien_sandow.jpg Aron Stevens Haddad (talk) 22:31, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh, excellent, thank you. I prefer the second one; could you provide a caption for it, which includes the year it was taken? End (talk) 22:33, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I would make the caption Aron Stevens known in the ring as Damien Sandow in 2016 Aron Stevens Haddad (talk) 22:37, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Amazing, that edit should be published now. And because I'm an absolute idiot who doesn't read usernames, I didn't realise until just now I was talking to the man himself. I hope you're happy with it! End (talk) 22:45, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the help, my man! Very happy and appreciate the help. Aron Stevens Haddad (talk) 22:46, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also, Aron Stevens is autoconfirmed protected. If you edit Wikipedia just a little bit more, you should be able to edit that page :) End (talk) 22:10, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Question from SirCocas (18:24, 22 July 2026)

[edit]

Where can I find my personal drafts? --SirCocas (talk) 18:24, 22 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Usually, you'll create draft articles in your sandbox, which can be accessed through the menu in the top right. Just click the button that says "sandbox" in the submenu that comes up when clicking the little person in the top right, when you're logged in. End (talk) 20:49, 22 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I am working on a draft about a Danish design company and would appreciate feedback on structure, sourcing and whether the topic meets notability requirements before submitting. I have a professional connection to the company and want to ensure the draft follows Wikipedia's guidelines. Hey there, I don't think your article meets WP:GNG. Your sources should be independent, and the topic needs some more significant coverage. End (talk) 02:27, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Marshy60000 (19:41, 4 August 2026)

[edit]

Hello! I need help with a page I've been working on recently. Two people are telling me there's a problem with one of my sources, and reverting the page to nearly no information. It's Titan (1988 video game). Please check it out. --Marshall Hagene (talk) 19:41, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

So they're citing the policy WP:RS. Forums like Moegamer aren't a reliable source. As long as you believe your edits are genuinely constructive, and you don't remove useful content (including citations, which a user initially took issue with) then you should be fine. I would recommend adding back in the external link to the game, however! That's one of the few times that an external link that's not a citation can be worth including, in my opinion. Question from Triphosphate (10:29, 14 August 2026)

[edit]

Hello, it's nice to meet you! I'm new here and want to learn more about how to glean which sources are best in adding to citations. I want to make sure that what I add/change to this website are substantial. --Triphosphate (talk) 10:29, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, nice to meeting you too! There's a couple of places where you can go for this, namely Wikipedia: Reliable Sources - though this is more of a basic overview of different types of sources. This can be useful for looking at what types of sources may be good for different types of articles, especially in regards to Biographies of Living People and Fringe Theories. In terms of actual sources, WP:RSP has a lot of discussed sources sorted by reliability. This isn't exhaustive by any means, but many major news outlets and journals are rated on here, without bias.
Outside of the above, upon hitting 500 edits and having six months of activity, you'll gain access to Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library, which contains access to lots of useful sources, including journals collections like JSTOR and Oxford Academic.
Finally, if you're unsure about a source that isn't rated at WP:RSP, I would personally recommend mediabiasfactcheck.com - it has lots of sources rated for bias on certain topics. If it's rated as far right or far left, I would urge against using it as a standalone source.
I hope this helps! Kind regards, End (talk) 21:01, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Fructidor910 (17:57, 5 September 2026)

[edit]

Hi! I am new and I have made a small handful of edits successfully but I wanted to check on one of the references. It is ref 50 on the 'Leeds' page. It seems to be displaying differently to other refs and I have tried a few different ways of adding the <ref> which hasn't made a difference. Thank you! --Fructidor910 (talk) 17:57, 5 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Please disregard this as someone thought my edit was a test and removed it. I will try again! Fructidor910 (talk) 18:06, 5 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Generally tags are placed in pairs, one opening tag and one closing tag surrounding the content:
<ref>your reference text goes in here</ref>
You were using two opening tags.

Question from Jrzygirl659 on The Man with the Hoe (20:01, 8 September 2026)

[edit]

Hello. How can I email this article to my son about the poem inspired by the painting “Man with a Hoe?” Thank you --Jrzygirl659 (talk) 20:01, 8 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello!
Highlight this following link and press the Ctrl and C keys at the same time on your keyboard. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_with_the_Hoe
Then, go onto your email and type your son's email address into a new draft, and write any sort of message you'd like to send him.
Finally, hit the Ctrl key and the V key at the same time on your keyboard to paste the link. This means your son will be able to click the link and read it.
I hope he enjoys the poem, and let me know if you need any more advice :) End (talk) 21:03, 8 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Tree3ananas (03:25, 14 September 2026)

[edit]
Note: Tree3ananas's mentor Dot.py is away.

I am trying to edit Young You's page (competitive figure skater's) page and trying to put on her competitive highlights her junior world championship placement in that season but the table for some reason won't show the placement number even though I looked at another skater's competitive highlight table and it shows the number with like basically the same wording code ( !scope=row style="height:1.7em; line-height:0.9;"|World Junior Championships | style="line-height:0.9; padding:0; background-color:#;" | | style="line-height:0.9; padding:0; background-color:#;" | 9th | style="line-height:0.9; padding:0; background-color:#;" | 6th) but one shows and the other doesn't. A weird thing is that when I refresh my page in the editor the table does show up but on another tab looking in I cannot see it. I do not understand the discrepancy. I feel like it's something to do with source code or stuff but I just don't know enough. --Tree3ananas (talk) 03:25, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I don't think I know enough either for this. However, if you're using the source editor, it might be less confusing to use the visual editor for this?
If that's not applicable or doesn't help, maybe enquire at Template talk:Infobox figure skater - the creators/maintainers of it might understand your query a bit better than me.
Sorry that I can't help more!! End (talk) 03:58, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Thank you for reaching out. I'm so pleased to be on Wikipedia - a lifelong dream, really. Anyway, I'm commenting a few times the past few days on another person's Wikipedia - in an effort to make the main article for her more netural and unbiased. So - Is there a flag or code that I can put on a comment? I've hear maybe its :30 ?? --EarthlyFacts (talk) 19:23, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hey there! If you're talking about warning templates, I personally use WP:Twinkle as that gives you a drop down menu to insert different warning templates onto people's pages. Also see Category:User warning templates for a list of all of them :) End (talk) 01:45, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! I will use that.
But now I've got a new question.
Can I actually go into the main article editing page for Camille Herron and make just a few edits? Or can I reach out to you and you could consider doing the changes, since you wold be an uninvolved editor? I would give you the new language to use, and the citations support it/them. --
Respectfully, EarthlyFacts (Formerly of editorial staff at Chicago Magazine) EarthlyFacts (talk) 20:25, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
So as per your comments at Talk:Camille Herron you do have a Conflict of Interest. I would definitely not recommend that you edit this article. I can edit it once I figure out overall what is happening; you have dealt with this very well on the talk page, and I would be an uninvolved editor. Unfortunately - and this sounds like a pathetic excuse I know - I'm not doing much editing right now as my keyboard's "E" and "D" keys are broken. I have typed this reply by repeatedly copy and pasting them. So when I'm more active, I should be able to help you out. We just need to ensure the article remains neutral, so please don't edit the article in the meanwhile, but do feel free to engage with other uninvolved editors at the talk page. End (talk) 22:55, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your understanding and help. When your keyboard is fixed, let me know! I'l reach out in a few others ways for now. EarthlyFacts (talk) 23:25, 13 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Dadbigmac on User:Dadbigmac/sandbox (07:31, 15 October 2026)

[edit]

Can you help me review the article to see what lacks to get Published? Thank you --Dadbigmac (talk) 07:31, 15 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Heya! Looking at this article, there are a few key issues with WP:MOS. You don't link to any other articles, nor have any inline citations, and your citations haven't been created using the "Cite" tool so there are no links. This means your article cannot be verified, and you effectively have no real sources. This is especially essential as biographies of real people must adhere to WP:BLP - it is imperative only real information is spread about real people. Additionally, you cannot write articles fully in bolded text; you will need to remove this. You will also need to change the style of your headings for them to correctly appear in the article's sidebar. Finally, I'm not an expert in templates, but to subst the template for submission, you may need to use source editor rather than visual editor.
I hope this helps! Best of luck, and let me know if you need more help. End (talk) 09:05, 15 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you can edit existing articles by going on the page and hitting the edit button.
Do ensure you don't have a conflict of interest with the content, however.
