Learn what Wikipedians do and discover how to help. Has a list of maintenance tasks you can do.
Tips- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue on the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source. Do not use AI-generated text.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
Happy editing! Cheers, Staraction (talk · contribs) 08:38, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hey @TheAFDGuy, I noticed your contributions to WP:AFD. I'm not sure it's the best idea for you to be participating there for now, since it seems like a lot of what you are doing is simply saying [decision] per [editor who previously stated their thoughts], at a relatively fast rate of speed. Please make sure that you're understanding the purpose of AfD (it's a discussion to achieve consensus, not a vote!). I'd suggest getting started with some other tasks, such as fixing grammatical errors. Let me know if you would like any help; you can type
{{ping|Staraction}}to get my attention. Welcome to Wikipedia! Best, Staraction (talk · contribs) 08:41, 21 April 2026 (UTC)- Hi there. I have to echo @Staraction here. You've "participated" in nearly 50 AfDs in a seven-hour period, most of them just a couple minutes apart from others, and your rationales are simply echoing another user's analysis with no additional explanation, a practice that is frowned upon since AfDs are WP:NOTAVOTE. (See WP:PERX for more perspective on this point.) Finally, the name of your account sends a message that you are here solely to participate in this one part of the project and not WP:HERE to build an encyclopedia. Please slow down, read the discussions and sources, and participate constructively. Dclemens1971 (talk) 11:05, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- this editor is clearly a sock of someone. just the username alone should make that clear. ltbdl (fox) 11:41, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page:
{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} or use the unblock wizard. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 13:54, 21 April 2026 (UTC)- Troll? Sock? I don't know, but you're are clearly not here to contribute constructively. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 13:55, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
