2027 World Championship
[edit]Would now be a good time to work on (and potentially publish) the 2027 World Championship article? The first international qualifier, the CDC Cross-Border Challenge, takes place this weekend, and we know the prize fund, format, sponsor, new venue. In case of any objections, I'll open up Draft:2027 PDC World Darts Championship . Greenflipper (talk) 10:10, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
- What part of the Alexandra Palace was used to host the News of the World Darts Championship? If the Great Hall part was used would it be worth mentioning in Draft:2027 PDC World Darts Championship? (Fran Bosh (talk) 10:52, 17 May 2026 (UTC))
- Added Greenflipper (talk) 15:53, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah probably if we can add those missing bits it should be good DartsF4 (talk) 11:14, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
Draft categories
[edit]The draft categories should not be given normal categories as stated in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Draft_categories
all the articles listed here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Draft_articles_about_darts_players should be have their categories changed to draft categories, which i am working on doing. Merasmous (talk) 02:00, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
Redlinks
[edit]Hi all
Any scope for leaving redlinks in tournament brackets etc (and articles if possible)? Is there a policy that prevents this?
I only ask as Steve Raw and Mick Manning (darts player) have both been accepted through AFC, but now need linking in almost every tournament they played. In Raw's case it got the article tagged as an orphan. Just would save a bit of time. Cheers! Porterjoh (talk) 16:38, 25 May 2026 (UTC)
- As long as the players have a reasonable case for an article then I don't see the problem. Greenflipper (talk) 23:09, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
Section names
[edit]I've noticed that a lot of darts biographies have issues concerning MOS:HEADINGLINKS, which states that "section headings should be unique within a page". For example, Luke Littler has three separate sections that are all simply named "PDC", listed as sub-sections under World Championship results, Titles, and Performance timeline. I think the easy fix is just changing the first two to "PDC World Championship" and "PDC titles", but this would need to be done for a lot of pages. Greenflipper (talk) 16:30, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- Can you clarify what your mean here? And if I’ve already been doing the bits you refer to in the performance timeline. DartsF4 (talk) 14:13, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- Basically, Luke Littler#PDC takes you to the first section called PDC, when there's two more below it. Greenflipper (talk) 14:58, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- Same for BDO and WDF? DartsF4 (talk) 17:04, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- If there's any identical section names then it's a technical problem. Greenflipper (talk) 19:14, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- Also goes for any tournament page that has a "Final" section in the summary and one that shows the final's stats; that's why I changed the one on 2026 PDC World Darts Championship to "Final statistics". Greenflipper (talk) 19:15, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
