Today, we’re proud to share new national research commissioned by Eason and conducted by Amárach Research, among 500 parents of primary school children in Ireland, exploring how reading fits into family life. Reading is thriving in Irish homes: 80% of families identify as moderate or avid readers, and 92% of parents say they’re readers. The research also highlights what helps families keep reading on track: simple evening/bedtime routines and letting children choose their own books (7 in 10 parents say this keeps them engaged). With many parents juggling busy schedules, everyday distractions (41%) and time pressures (28%) and nearly 3 in 10 children spending 2+ hours on screens on a typical school day - those small, consistent reading moments can make a real difference. To support families, we’re launching our Children’s Reading Hub with age-based recommendations, interest-led booklists and practical tips. Go raibh míle maith agaibh to everyone who voted for The Dodger as Eason Ltd Favourite Book of the Year 2025 (Adult). It means so much to me, especially in a year filled with so many outstanding books. As a journalist working in an industry under pressure, your support is more than a vote, it's a recognition of the value of investigative reporting and the power of stories that dig deeper.

The loveliest Christmas ad I have watched so far (especially the end). AND extra proud that it's Irish made and for a well known Irish company. Bualadh bos 👏 👏 👏 to all concerned, especially the teams at @Dynamo and Eason Ltd for making a great choice. 🎅 🎄 🔔 ❄️ 🤶
Sound the Christmas ad bells 🔔 🎄🎅🏻 We’re truly delighted to present our first big seasonal campaign for our wonderful client and Irish icon Eason! Christmas is about so much more than gifts. It’s about the stories we're inspired to share, and how they inspire others long after. It's about the relationships that give them to us, and are enriched by their telling. We couldn’t dream of a better brand to help us tell that story, and we’re very proud we could. This was a major effort all round, and a real milestone for our agency. Too many thanks to mention in a post but special shoutouts to Peter O’ Brien, Banjoman, Jessica Derby, and our wonderful clients Lisa O'Brien and Rebecca Murphy. We were delighted to attend the An Post Irish Book Awards last night, celebrating so many talented authors, illustrators and artists across the industry 📚 Eason was proud to sponsor two categories: Sports Book of the Year and Novel of the Year. It was a pleasure to see Andrew Porter and Roisín O'Donnell recognised for their outstanding work, taking home the awards in their respective categories 👏 🥳 A huge congratulations to all the winners and shortlisted authors. The creativity and dedication on display were truly inspiring. We’re already looking forward to seeing what new talent and stories next year will bring 🎉 An Post

✨ Inspire Someone This Christmas ✨ As the festive season twinkles into full swing, we’re inviting everyone to rediscover the magic of storytelling and human connection this Christmas. At Eason, books have always been more than just gifts, they’re pathways to inspiration, imagination, and connection. Our new campaign, “Inspire Someone This Christmas,” celebrates the timeless joy of stories and how they bring people closer together. At the centre of the campaign is a heartwarming story of a Grandad and his Granddaughter, a beautiful reminder of our enduring message to Be Inspired by the stories we share and the memories they create. Since 1888, Eason has been part of Irish Christmas traditions, celebrating our heritage as the home of stories for generations of families. From heartwarming narratives and motivational memoirs to thought-provoking fiction and insightful non-fiction, there’s a story waiting to spark curiosity and joy for everyone on your list this year. 📚 This Christmas, let’s all take a moment to inspire someone - one story at a time.
