Great to see members of Foróige’s Connect Safely Youth Advocacy Group at Leinster House recently for the launch of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Children and Equality’s report on technology, social media and children. Ensuring young people have a voice in conversations about their online lives is essential to creating safer, more positive digital experiences. Youth Night 2026 is coming! On Friday, 13 November, Foróige Clubs and Projects across Ireland will take part in Oíche na hÓige / Youth Night 2026, a national celebration of youth work and the positive impact young people make in their communities. Youth Night is an opportunity to recognise the vital role of youth work in Ireland, celebrate the achievements of young people and showcase the Clubs, Projects, staff and volunteers who make it all possible. From community gatherings to creative showcases, we're looking forward to seeing Foróige young people celebrate everything that makes their Clubs and Projects special. We'll also be creating a national map of Youth Night events, highlighting celebrations taking place in communities across Ireland. Planning an event? We'd love to hear what you're organising! “It took me 15 years to find my second home.” That’s how Dillon described finding Foróige as he, Sophie and Indira spoke to the room at Ireland’s Conference on Online Safety for Children and Young People today. Together, they spoke powerfully about their positive experiences in Foróige, the importance of having a space where young people feel they belong, and why youth organisations matter. They also had a clear message for decision-makers: organisations like Foróige need continued investment so more young people can have those spaces in their lives. Indira presented an overview of the key findings from the Youth Forum on Online Safety, bringing young people’s experiences and views directly into the conversation. We’re incredibly proud of Dillon, Sophie and Indira. Not simply being invited into the room, but standing up, speaking for themselves and helping shape the decisions that affect young people. 👏 Well done Dillon, Sophie and Indira! Young people’s voices belong at the heart of conversations about the decisions that affect their lives. We were incredibly proud to see Blessing, a Foróige young person, represent Foróige at the Children’s Rights Alliance #EndChildPovertyWeek event, sharing his own experience of living in Ireland and speaking about the realities facing children and young people in the international protection system. Blessing spoke powerfully about belonging, inclusion and the importance of having the same freedoms and opportunities as his peers. A huge thank you to Blessing for bringing his voice and experience to the conversation, and to the Children’s Rights Alliance for creating the space for young people to be heard. #EndChildPovertyWeek #ChildrensBudget #Budget2027 #WeAreForóige
Blessing (15) youth representative with Foróige addresses our #EndChildPovertyWeek event this morning, sharing his experience of living in Ireland. “Though I’m extremely grateful to live in Ireland and be given a second chance, sometimes I do wish I had more freedom. Due to health and safety reasons, we are unable to cook min our accommodation, we are restricted to five minutes per person warm any meals we have.” Speaking about his engagement with Foróige Blessing highlights the positive role youth work services play in inclusion, integration and participation. “I love Ireland, and a lot of my classmates and Foróige friends see me as Irish. I’ve been in situations where my Irish friends from Foróige would give me their surname and claim me as their cousin to other people, which always made me feel accepted for who I am.” #ChildrensBudget #Budget2027 #BreakTheCycle

📣 Young people involved in youth work, we want to hear from you! More than 3,000 teenagers came together this weekend for Foróige Amplified 2026. What makes Amplified so special isn’t just the music, activities or atmosphere. It’s the hundreds of Foróige volunteers, staff and supporters who give their time to create a space where young people can have fun, make friends and create lasting memories. As Ireland’s largest alcohol and drug free festival for young people, Foróige Amplified continues to show what’s possible when young people are given the space to connect, celebrate and simply enjoy being together. A huge thank you to every volunteer, organiser, performer, partner and supporter who made this year’s festival possible. Your commitment and generosity are what make Amplified such a unique event year after year. And, of course, thank you to the thousands of Foróige young people who brought the energy, enthusiasm and joy that make Amplified what it is. #WeAreForóige

Traveller Pride 2026 was a powerful celebration of culture, identity and belonging across Foróige. Nationally, Foróige projects marked the occasion in ways that were meaningful, creative and rooted in pride, culture and community. From events and activities to conversations and displays, it was wonderful to see so many projects taking the opportunity to recognise and celebrate Traveller Pride. Foróige is privileged to work with young people from Traveller communities across our organisation. These young people, along with their families and communities, bring immense richness, diversity and cultural strength to our projects and to the wider Foróige community. Traveller Pride gave us a valuable opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate that contribution. A huge well done to everyone who organised, supported and took part in the celebrations across Foróige. #travellerpride #weareforoige
