Welcome to Martyrs’ Shrine

Martyrs' Shrine is a national holy and historic space honouring the lives of the Canadian Martyrs. The Shrine celebrates a 400-year-old story of love, faith, and discovery that inspired and influenced the formation of Canada as we know it today and welcomes over 100,000 visitors from around the world every year.

Canada's Early Church

Our story has its origins in the formation of Canada as we recognize it today. Learn about the Canadian Martyrs and their relations with the Indigenous peoples of the early 17th century, and why today we are an internationally-recognized place for spiritual pilgrimage.
