Athletics IT Help Desk Joining with Penn State IT Service Desk
What is happening?
Beginning September 15th, 2026, as part of continuing OST initiatives across the University, Intercollegiate Athletics has joined Penn State’s IT Service Desk to provide Tier 1 support for staff. This collaboration is intended to enhance our overall level of service and is not intended to replace our on-site support team that you rely on.
What is changing?
We understand how complex the ICA environment can be and will be easing into this new collaboration slowly.
When you have an issue and need to reach out for IT assistance, your request by phone or email will be initially handled by the Penn State IT Service Desk where they will assist you with 24/7 support. Any issues that are ICA-specific will then be escalated to our ICA IT team. The submission form to create help tickets on our Athletics IT website will be changed to forward to the Penn State IT Service Desk. Other forms will remain unchanged at this time.

What is not changing?
Our commitment to providing a quick response and addressing all of your needs remains our mission. Athletics IT will continue to be available to you as a walk-in service in our 157 Bryce Jordan Center office. Our office phone number will remain operational as well.
In regard to event support, all the communication channels that you use currently will still exist. Please continue to contact us prior to and during events for any assistance by email, text, Teams, or by phone in addition to the new Penn State IT Service Desk option.
Windows 10 to Windows 11 Upgrades Ongoing
What is happening?
Penn State IT Security is requiring all eligible PCs be upgraded to Windows 11 by the end of year. Most PCs that are eligible for the upgrade have been upgraded. Those machines that cannot upgrade to Windows 11 due to hardware limitations will have their PCs replaced soon. We will be contacting departments as hardware becomes available.
Why is this happening?
Windows 10 will reach the end of support this fall. At this point software and security updates or fixes will no longer be provided.
