Life no longer happens one milestone at a time. So why should financial planning? Career changes, family responsibilities, retirement and legacy can increasingly overlap, creating a more complex set of financial priorities that are shaping the future of wealth. HSBC research suggests that 71% of affluent individuals are planning for a future that does not follow a fixed sequence. Against this backdrop, the perceived cost of retirement has risen 20% in a year, according to our survey of nearly 10,000 affluent and high-net-worth investors across 10 markets. To help clients manage this complexity, HSBC’s goal-based financial planning approach maps and tracks their interconnected priorities across five core needs: protection, education, retirement, wealth accumulation and legacy. Our animation explores what this means across generations as traditional life stages are rewritten. This week in Dubai, we’ve brought together investors, corporates, regulators and thought leaders to explore the opportunities ahead in a changing world, including the growing influence of the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye (MENAT) region. The 10th annual HSBC Future Forum is connecting the now to what’s next, combining high-level discussion with curated opportunities to network and build new partnerships. Over two days, the forum is exploring MENAT’s role as a global investment hub, a bridge between markets, and an increasingly important voice in the international financial community. We’ve also launched a new report, New Networks of Capital: MENAT Infrastructure, exploring how investment across the region is changing. Find out more: http://spr.ly/6044BHpwWa

We were built by merchants for merchants more than 160 years ago, so understand exactly what it takes for a young business to thrive in the global marketplace. That’s vital for customers like Scotland’s Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd., which relies on international sales of its whisky to be successful. We’ve supported the business since 2016, not only with finance, but insight and expertise too – enabling it to expand internationally and trade with confidence.
