Very excited to see the agenda coming together for our first Payments Leaders' Summit BFSI of 2027! 💳🏦 On 26th January, we’ll be bringing senior leaders from across banking and financial services together at Hilton Park Lane, London for one focused day exploring the next era of payments: intelligent, instant and interconnected. From Open Banking and A2A to AI agents, real time payments, infrastructure modernisation and the changing economics of payments, I wanted this agenda to focus on the conversations payments leaders will genuinely need to be having as we head into 2027. A few topics I’m particularly excited about: ✨ When AI Starts Paying 💡 Who Owns Open Banking? ⚡ Has Account to Account Reached Systemic Scale? 🏦 The Battle for Value: Who Captures the Economics of Next Generation Payments? 🤖 AI vs AI: In Real Time Payments 🔧 Modernising Without Breaking 🚀 How AI Agents Are Revolutionising Payments and Financial Services We’ll also be hosting our Women in Business Lunch, bringing together senior female leaders from across banking, financial services, retail, marketplaces, gaming, travel and health to connect, share experiences and build new relationships. 💜 And, of course, there will be plenty of time throughout the day for peer to peer discussions, attendee roundtables, one to one meetings and networking. If you work within payments, digital banking, Open Banking, transformation, innovation, fraud, risk or payments technology within BFSI, I’d love to see you there. 🎤 Interested in speaking? Thank you to the Payments Leaders' Summit team for inviting me to their event in London last week. It was my first time attending, and it was good to meet and connect with others working in fraud and payments. Always interesting to hear how organisations are using AI to tackle fraud, and the evolving conversations about autonomous agents in payment operations. I also enjoyed the Women in Business lunch, a forum which brings female leaders together to talk about the challenges we face, celebrate achievements, and inspire the next generation of leaders. #PaymentLeadersSummit

  • You asked for more opportunities to get involved, challenge ideas and learn directly from your peers. We listened 👀 This November at Payments Leaders' Summit San Diego, we’re bringing something more hands-on to Day 2 with an interactive payment recovery workshop led by Davide Villa, Senior Consultant at Edgar, Dunn & Company 💳 The challenge: how much revenue are you losing from payment failures that could actually be recovered? Davide will kick things off by unpacking the payment failure journey, from issuer declines and authentication to fraud controls, routing, technical failures and payment method availability, looking at where recoverable revenue can be lost. Then, the room takes over! In small groups, attendees will bring real payment failure challenges to the table, identify where and why the journey is breaking down, and pressure-test potential solutions with fellow payments leaders. The big question: How could you recover more transactions without unnecessarily increasing friction, cost or risk? We’ll finish by bringing the room back together to compare approaches, share takeaways and give attendees practical ideas to apply to their own payment recovery strategy. Less sitting back and listening. More getting involved, challenging thinking and leaving with something tangible you can actually use. And, of course, we’ll be doing it all from the waterfront Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina in San Diego🌊 Want to join us 10-11 November? Submit your enquiry in under two minutes to be considered for a complimentary spot: https://lnkd.in/ea3sYJ_P #PaymentsLeadersSummit #Payments #PaymentStrategy #PaymentOptimisation #PaymentAcceptance #DigitalPayments

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of joining a women’s leadership panel Payments Leaders' Summit in Amsterdam, and I left inspired by the conversations on and off stage. We talked about visibility, being the “only” in the room, leading through transformation, and the power of sponsorship. A few thoughts I shared: 🔹 Make your work visible. Great work matters, but so does making sure the right people see it. Share your results, put numbers on your impact, and be clear about your ambitions. 🔹 Your difference is your strength. Having lived and worked across Canada, India, the UK and Germany, I’ve learned that a different perspective is often exactly what a team needs. Speak up early and bring it to the table. 🔹 Transformation is about people. At METRO Markets, we’re building a strong foundation for how we serve our customers and partners. The technology is exciting, but what makes it work is alignment, trust and teams across the business moving in the same direction. 🔹 Bring what the table needs. Seats at the table come from understanding what matters most to the business and showing up with solutions. 🔹 Know the difference between a mentor and sponsor: A mentor talks to you; a sponsor talks about you. Both matter, but a sponsor puts their name behind yours in the rooms where decisions are made. Thank you to Oliwia Bochinska for the invitation, and to my fellow panelists for such an open and energising discussion! #PLS2026 #WomenInLeadership #METROMarkets #Payments #Leadership Milagros Brousset Maryia Nevar Annette Weber Angélique Mhiri Rute Costa Ifeoma B.

Did you praise a woman today? Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking on the Women in Business panel at the Payments Leaders' Summit in Amsterdam. Any opportunity I have to speak on behalf of women and praise and advocate for more space and equality for women in the industry is something that I take very seriously. We have had tons of improvements in the past few years in the race for equality, but let's not forget that men are still running the game, and they often will speak for themselves and their "boys club". I was really lucky to have amazing and inspiring women to sponsor me in my career, and I'm absolutely sure that I wouldn't be the professional that I am if it weren't for them. So I'd like to keep the momentum and ask you that's reading this if did you take 5 seconds of your day today to praise a woman who works with you and you know is amazing? If not, please take this post as a signal to do it :) For me, naturally, it comes to my mind to thank once more the incredibles: Susan Pastega, MSc., Maria Estela Poletti Soto, Juliana Borges de Campos, Adriana Camargo, and Elizabeth Siân Woods. I can't thank you enough for being there for me and for making me a better professional. And also, want to shout out to amazing women who are/were part of my professional journey, and I'm incredibly proud of knowing it: Charlene Neves Albuquerque, Camila Moraes, khadija hakkou, Aline Carvalho Chang. Having the opportunity to meet and work with you, women, is one of the biggest highlights of being in the Fintech world. Let's stick together, after all, in the words of Queen Bey, who runs the world are girls 💖

  • Missed the Payments Leaders' Summit UK last week? 👀 What does a 300-page payments invoice tell us about the state of the industry? Why could better data sharing be critical to stopping fraud? And as agentic commerce grows, who actually owns it when something goes wrong? Our partners at SkyParlour joined us in London, and George Iddenden shares his take on some of the standout findings and conversations from across the summit. From agentic commerce and fraud to payments data, open banking and BNPL, it’s a great way to catch up on what you missed and the conversations shaping the payments industry. 20+ conversations at Payments Leaders Summit UK this week, across streaming, retail, travel, insurance, fitness and publishing. Three themes came up again and again: 1. Recurring revenue is leaking One subscription business writes off millions a year in failed renewals. A wellness chain called its direct debit failure rate "horrendous". A travel business relies on manual outreach to customers when a stored-card payment fails. Vaults must be kept evergreen, and there needs to be a real-time 'Plan B'. 2. Flexibility is the priority, but tokens get in the way Cards are stored as PSP-issued tokens that only work with that PSP. Adding a backup provider, or switching altogether is slow, resource intensive and risky. So teams are staying put, even when they shouldn’t. Whoever holds the token sets the terms. 3. Few teams know the true breakdown of payment fees Scheme fees are rising, APM costs are climbing, and cross-border FX quietly takes 2–3%. Yet most teams can't compare true cost across their providers. Every PSP reports differently, so data sits in silos, or in a separate analytics tool bolted on top. Finance is left reconciling settlement files by hand. You can't negotiate or optimise for cost, on numbers you can't see. The teams making progress treat payments as infrastructure they own: their tokens, their routing, their data. Providers become interchangeable, and every fee is visible. If any of these challenges resonate, let's whiteboard. Thanks for everyone's time, and for sharing so openly. #UnifiedPaymentInfrastructure
