The Financial Times has shortlisted Three Crowns LLP in two categories at its 2026 Innovative Lawyers North America Awards: 🟡 Intrapreneur, recognizing the firm’s CEO and General Counsel, Hugh Carlson 🟡 Innovation in Knowledge & Data, for Nexus The Intrapreneur shortlisting recognizes Hugh’s leadership of the firm’s effort to build its own software in direct response to what the business needs, rather than fitting the firm’s work to off-the-shelf products. Nexus is one product of that effort. It is a client relationship platform developed in-house with Anthropic’s Claude Code, designed around how the firm actually manages its relationships. The shortlistings follow two FT Innovative Lawyers wins in the past year: Innovation in Digital Tools: Law Firm Operations at the Europe Awards 2026, and Innovation in Training and Development at the North America Awards 2025. Winners will be announced at Gotham Hall in New York on December 7. To learn more about the awards, please click here: https://lnkd.in/dnyjXwP. Three Crowns LLP Crowns is delighted to share that the French Court of Cassation has dismissed the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela’s appeal concerning the investment treaty award obtained by Serafín García Armas and Karina García Gruber under the Spain-Venezuela bilateral investment treaty. On 7 October 2026, the Court of Cassation rejected Venezuela’s challenge to the 2023 judgment of the Paris Court of Appeal, which had largely upheld the final award rendered by a Paris-seated UNCITRAL tribunal in 2019. The decision brings to a close the French court proceedings in a dispute spanning more than a decade. The case has made a lasting contribution to French case law on investment treaty arbitration. Three Crowns acted for the investors as part of a wider counsel team, working alongside Jérôme Ortscheidt, avocat au Conseil d’État et à la Cour de cassation, before the Court of Cassation. The Three Crowns team was led by Shaparak Saleh (Paris), alongside Eugénie Wrobel (Paris). #InternationalArbitration #InvestorState

Three Crowns LLP is pleased to have represented Elliott Investment Management L.P. in its successful arbitration award against the Republic of Korea under the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement, concerning the 2015 merger of Samsung C&T and Cheil Industries. The case was partly set aside by the English courts and sent back to the tribunal. The London-seated tribunal has now issued its Further Award, confirming the damages from its 2023 award together with interest and costs. The Three Crowns team in the remitted proceedings was led by Constantine Partasides KC (London) and Georgios Petrochilos KC (Paris). They were joined by Simon Consedine and Nicola Peart (both Washington, DC), Julia Sherman and Jyotsna Vilva (both London). The original arbitration proceedings also involved Elizabeth Snodgrass (Washington, DC), YiKang Zhang (Singapore) and Kelly Renehan (London). Three Crowns worked collaboratively with Kobre & Kim in both the remitted and original proceedings, and KL PARTNERS in the original proceedings. #InternationalArbitration #InvestorState

Three Crowns LLP was fortunate to collaborate with Anthropic's Robert Mahari in developing our Financial Times Innovative Lawyers award winning tool using Claude Code. Our CEO Hugh Carlson and Robert have also co-founded Generative Legal, an invite-only forum for legal industry leaders to have AI conversations with peers - what's working, what isn't, and what they're grappling with - behind closed doors. If interested in attending please visit the Generative Legal page.
Huge congratulations to Hugh Carlson and the Three Crowns LLP team for showing how firms can responsibly adopt and deploy bespoke AI systems! I’m grateful to have contributed to the project and celebrated with the team. Claude Code empowers law firms to build technologies that differentiate them. Our team is excited to keep building tools that help lawyers innovate, supercharge their work, and practice at the top of their license. Thank you Reena SenGupta and RSGI for brining together an exceptional group of lawyers - looking forward to the next one!

Three Crowns LLP recognised as ‘leaders in adopting AI’ by the Financial Times. The firm won the ‘Innovation in Digital Tools’ award at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards 2026 announced in London last night. The award reflects the collaborative efforts of various teams across the firm to employ generative AI coding to build a bespoke, proprietary pitch platform that identifies relevant BD opportunities and generates tailored pitch materials instantly. As our CEO Hugh Carlson puts it: “Innovation is part of our firm DNA. From launch, we have distinguished ourselves by tailoring our advocacy around a given client’s objectives, rather than around large teams and assembly-line workflows. AI allows us to now build our own tools the same way, around how we practice and deliver value. Yesterday’s FT award – our second in less than a year – speaks to how far this founding principle can take us.” This is our second FT award in less than a year, following our win for Atelier, our AI-powered cross-examination simulator, at the North America awards in December 2025. You can find more information about the award and our approach to AI and Innovation on the Three Crowns website. #FTInnovativeLawyers #LegalInnovation #LegalTech #GenerativeAI #InternationalArbitration #ThreeCrowns
