Pokmon of the Day

Don't tease the weasel.

March 27, 2000

Mondays are special days indeed for Pokmen and women -- every Monday, IGNpocket will be sneaking into this country and (onto our web site) one of the brand new Pokmons from the Japanese Silver and Gold Pokmon games. You won't be able to catch these newest Pokcritters until the games' release in September, 2000, so this is your only chance to get your Pokdose of Pokmania for almost a year. There are 100 new Pokmons total, so keep coming back to IGNpocket to catch them all!

And if you're looking to be the Ultimate Pokmon Collector, check into the all-new PokContest once you learn all about this Pokmon -- the prize pack is the most massive Pokmon give-away yet! Head on over to our Contest page where you must answer one question about this Pokmon. Get the answer right, and you'll be entered to win the Pokmon prize of that day. But to win, you'll have to register it's a painless process, and well worth the three minutes of your time.

Now, on to today's Pokmon of the Day:

Bakufuun (#185)

Image Pronunciation:
BAH-KU-FOON

Element
Fire

Type
Volcano

Height
5' 7"

Weight
175 lbs.

Techniques
Ember
Swift

Don't tease the weasel.

Hey yo, what's up, eh? It's the weasel, munching on the grub, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-dy! So I was steppin' to this Lisa, right, and she's lookin' fine mama. OWWWWWWW! So you know what I do, bro? I get all up to that, and I'm like, "What's up, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-dy! ", and she's like "..." And I don't speak Nuh, so I'm like, "So what's the time? What's your time? Why don't you give me some time?" And she's like "..."

That bummed me out, dudes. But I'm still all up in that, so I go, "Yo baby, wanna see my watch?" And I don't even wait for an answer, I just whip my pants down. But, dude, check it -- I was all set with my punchline / pickup-line, you know, the hands and wrist and face part, right? But then she just goes mental, buddy. Yelling and screaming in some yada-yada-yada language. And that's when I realized that my Lisa was a Lisa Oh, buddy -- not a word of English, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-dy!

OK, so Bakufuun isn't really a weasel. It's really a volcano mouse with a fire collar. But it looks like a weasel, and that's plenty to go on here. Breathe caka, you crazy Pokmaniacs.

NOTE: The name of this Pokmon will likely change when the Silver and Gold Pokmon Game Boy Color games are translated and brought over. Names of Pokmons are plays on words (both in Japan and the US), so expect the names to be witty and charismatic translations of the Japanese names.

Now that you've gotten your Poklesson and you are a Pokscholar, take this info over to our Pokmon Dream Contest and enter yourself for a chance to win some great Pokprizes. If you are into Pokmon - I mean really into Pokmon - and you have been trying desperately to catch them all, this is your chance. Get the answer right, and you may win yourself the Pokmon Dream Pack which includes: a Game Boy Color, a Game Boy Color Protector, a copy of each of these Pokmon Classics: Pokmon Yellow, Red, and Blue, a Limited Edition Pokmon Stadium Bundle which includes an N64 control deck, Pokmon Stadium Game Pak, gray controller, atomic purple controller, N64 Transfer Pak (which will transfer Pokmon between Pokmon Stadium and Pokmon Red, Blue or Yellow), AC adapter, AV cable, Battle Guide, Pokmon poster and a Pokmon Wizards of the Coast trading card. Whew! If you need more Pokmon after all that, something's wrong with your Pokmedulla. This is a super Pokfreak-out! So take the Pokchallenge, and put some Pok in your pocket!

And remember, contests are only open to registered users on IGN.com. If you are not registered on IGN.com, take two minutes and sign up here. Super easy, super free, super painless, superkewl... And now I'm super embarrassed that I just said that.
