Pokmon of the Day
This is why we're not doing many Pokmon Gold and Silver Pok's yet.
August 7, 2000
Mondays are special days indeed for Pokmen and women -- every Monday, IGNpocket will be sneaking into this country and (onto our web site) one of the brand new Pokmons from the Japanese Silver and Gold Pokmon games. You won't be able to catch these newest Pokcritters until the games' release in September, 2000, so this is your only chance to get your Pokdose of Pokmania for several months still. There are 100 new Pokmons total, so keep coming back to IGNpocket to catch them all!
Once you're done with today's Pokmon Profile, be sure to drop in on all the fun going on inside IGN's Pokmon Board. Whether you're pro-Pokmon or anti-Pokmon, there's plenty to gab about. You may even see the Pokmon of the Day guy trading barbs in there. Or not!

I have nothing to say about Popokko. Not a word. It's a green Pokmon with a spinny top on its head. That means it flies, right? And it has a Pok Ball load full of attacks. One of them is Dandelion, which slows an enemy to almost a crawl. Neat.
...
So, um... Heard any good jokes lately? Ohh, I should also mention that I did the Letter's Section today? Yeah, it's kind of a new thing. PokMonday Letters, I call it. Just like the weekly feature that used to be here. And yep, it's coming back.
Popokko's green, by the way. I wasn't sure that you noticed.
Well, that's it for today. I was on a roll all week long, but you incessant fans keep calling for Silver and Gold Pokmon. What am I supposed to do? I can't just make it up like I usually do. So, there you have it. Popokko. Lots of attacks. Green. Flies. Evolves from Hanekko (#187), evolves to Watakko (#189). That happens somewhere around levels 18 and 27, respectively.
And that's it.
Wait, Popokko... Popokko... Po-Po-Kko... Popo! It has the word Popo in its name! Do-Over!!!
NOTE: The name of this Pokmon will likely change when the Silver and Gold Pokmon Game Boy Color games are translated and brought over. Names of Pokmons are plays on words (both in Japan and the US), so expect the names to be witty and charismatic translations of the Japanese names.
Where in the world is Slowbro Sandiego?
