Pokmon of the Day

Take it slow, bro. There's a new Pok king in town.

January 31, 2000

Mondays are special days indeed for Pokmen and women -- every Monday, IGNpocket will be sneaking into this country and (onto our web site) one of the brand new Pokmons from the Japanese Silver and Gold Pokmon games. You won't be able to catch these newest Pokcritters until the games' release in September, 2000, so this is your only chance to get your Pokdose of Pokmania for almost a year. There are 100 new Pokmons total, so keep coming back to IGNpocket to catch them all!

Also, be sure to check out our PokContest once you learn all about this Pokmon -- the prize pack is all new (or should I say "Neo"). Head on over to our Contest page where you must answer one question about this Pokmon. Get the answer right, and you'll be entered to win the Pokmon prize of that day. But to win, you'll have to register it's a painless process, and well worth the three minutes of your time.

Now, on to today's Pokmon of the Day:

Slowking (#199)

Image Pronunciation:
SLOW-KING

Element
Water / Psychic

Type
Dopey

Height
8' 0"

Weight
+200 lbs.

Techniques
Confusion
Disable
Head Butt

Take it slow, bro. There's a new Pok king in town.

Yadoking isn't the world's brightest king, but for a Pokemon, this royal fool sure has come a long way. Evolved from the Slowpoke and Slowbro Pokmons (which could be found in Pokmon Red / Blue / Yellow), Yadoking has taken the shell that was biting his poor tail and turned it into a crown, thus proclaimed a king by the crown. He still looks goofy though, so if you bow to the king, do it not out of respect, but out of love for the cuddly and silly Slowpoke descendant.

Note that the name of this Pokmon is Slowking. This is indeed the trademarked name of the character for the American release of Pokmon Silver and Gold. All hail to the king!

Now that you've gotten your Poklesson and you are a Pokscholar, take this info over to our Pokmon Contest and enter yourself for a chance to win some great Pokprizes. Get the answer right, and you may win yourself the Pokmon 'Neo' Prize Pack -- "Neo" Ultra-Limited Edition Japanese Pokmon cards (based on the Silver and Gold Pokmon games, and not available in stores anywhere in the US), Japanese Pokmon puzzles, Pokmon Key Chains, Pokmon videos... Everything but the Poksink! It's a super Pokfreak-out! So take the Pokchallenge, and put some Pok in your pocket!

If you haven't registered, get your butt over to our Registration page and put all the pertinent information so you get in on the goods.
