    Presentation is clean and implementation is relatively simple. But it would be even better if block functionality were introduced. Using [shortcodes] in the block editor feels antiquated.

    Thank you for your review. I have held off adding block functionality as a less than optimal implementation or one that breaks backwards compatibility would be worse than keeping the plugin as it is. Adding this properly would best be addressed with a complete rewrite of the plugin. This is on the roadmap along with other improvements, however I do not have a specific timescale for this at the moment.
