Last night's LLM Success Pathway Panel at BU Law was another year of sharing insights, strategies, and building connections. LLM and non-JD law students from across Massachusetts joined us for meaningful conversation about building legal careers with an LLM degree. Thank you to our amazing panelists Mary Jennings, Jan H. Ryu Koo, Obioma Okonkwo, Sanghyun Ahn, Cyrus Rostami for sharing their real journeys, and to our co-hosts — South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston, Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association, Hispanic National Bar Association Region I, and Boston University School of Law — for making the evening happen. If you're a law student interested in joining AALAM, the membership is free — come join the community: https://lnkd.in/epGBEie8
Congrats to AALAM's own Lesley Chuang on being recognized as one of the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts Emerging Leaders in the Law! We are proud to celebrate this achievement 🥳
Honored to have been recognized as one of the Emerging Women Leaders in the Law by Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts 🏆 Thank you to the WBA leadership (particularly Margaret A. Caulfield and Margaret E Talmers) and to my colleagues and mentors who have supported me along the way. This year's theme - Show Up, Stand Up, Suit Up - could not feel more timely. I think of the women lawyers who paved the way for me and so many others in this profession. Their courage made the rule of law real for the people who needed it most, e.g. securing reproductive rights and representing domestic violence survivors in family court. It is our responsibility to carry that work forward. The fireside chat with State Senator Lydia Edwards and former US Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz was a highlight of the evening. Hearing them speak openly about losing a spouse, the weight and the honor of being the first, and the resilience it took to keep going was deeply moving. I am inspired by how they found strength in community, both in the people who showed up for them and in those they now lift up in return. Congratulations to my fellow honorees: Leila J. Robinson Award Recipients Lizette Perez-Deisboeck and Jamie Sabino, and Emerging Women Leaders Samantha Fuchs, Amiee Parco Esq. and Anne Sheldon. I'm proud to stand alongside you! - with Darshana Indira, Sophia Picozzi, Skyler Danley, Mary Nguyen, Diana Chiang

What a wonderful evening supporting the The Asian Community Fund at the Boston Foundation's Rising Together Gala and celebrating the individuals and organizations working to strengthen AAPI communities across MA! The Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM) is proud to celebrate with so many friends, colleagues and community partners in recognizing ACF's impressive work! It was especially inspiring to hear from Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and The Honorable Mazie Hirono and to celebrate this year's honorees, Julie Kim, CEO of Takeda, and Dr. Anantha Chandrakasan, Provost of MIT, whose leadership and achievements continue to pave the way for future generations. PS. We know there are many more AALAM members at the gala than those pictured here. Next year, let's coordinate a post-event meetup in front of the stage so we can capture the full AALAM presence! 📸😊
