Elevating Critical Care

About us

Quality emergency care doesn’t begin in the hospital emergency room – it begins at the scene of the accident or the moment a life-threatening illness strikes. Air Methods has a talented workforce of over 4,500 team members, which includes the best in the air medical industry. We are pilots, clinicians, mechanics, air communications specialists, support teams and many more. We’re ready to answer the call because we know someone’s life is on the line. We dedicate ourselves around the clock to maintain equipment and supplies, coordinate logistics and relentlessly provide the tools and expertise that allow us to give more tomorrows. From the front lines to the phone lines, we believe our status as the industry leader – and the importance we place on our mission statement and core values – allow us to attract the highest level of talented professionals. More than 20% of our team members are U.S. veterans, active duty or in the reserves. Our comprehensive aviation, clinical and maintenance training is as robust as it is intense. And our continuous curriculum of learning and simulation-based training is unmatched in the industry. We are ready to save lives at every moment of every day, with over 300 bases of operations serving 48 states. In rural communities, that kind of reach of care is crucial. Emergency air medical transport and treatment is often the only access to lifesaving emergency care they have – providing access to millions of people who otherwise would not have been able to make it to a trauma center. We also operate eight maintenance centers of excellence throughout the nation and a national communications center. Although we call Greenwood Village, Colorado, home, we are only a call away.

  • Air Methods and HCA Virginia Health System officially opened the second Air Care Eagle base in Danville, VA, this past weekend. Operating 24/7/365, the Danville team will work alongside EMS agencies, hospitals, and first responders to provide lifesaving care for critically ill and injured patients—both at the scene and during interfacility transports. Building on five years of partnership through the Air Care Eagle program (with its sister base in Hopewell), the new base strengthens the region’s emergency response network and brings specialized critical care closer to patients. Welcome to Danville, Air Care Eagle! 🚁

  • Few people have left a mark on air medical transport quite like Air Methods Founder Roy Morgan. Roy was honored as a Living Legend in 2014, as well as being inducted to the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame. In recognition of his leadership, vision and enduring legacy, we’re proud to establish the Roy Morgan Legacy Award. This new award will honor individuals who reflect the commitment, passion and spirit of service that have defined Roy’s career and influence on our industry. We’re excited to announce the first recipient at AMTC and celebrate both the individual selected and the legacy that inspired this special recognition.

  • Our SkyLife crew in Fresno, CA was thrilled to join with partners from China Peak Volunteer Ski Patrol and American Ambulance - Fresno/Kings/Madera California to reunite with former patient Braxon Silva. Last February, the then-14-year-old suffered a traumatic brain injury in a snowboarding accident. After spending 10 days in a coma and nearly two months in the hospital, Braxon has made a remarkable recovery. He and his family visited the SkyLife base earlier this week to say thank you to the many people who helped save his life.
