I did it again. I went hunting for VC funds actively backing women founders... Because apparently women can build billion-dollar companies, manage teams, raise children, solve entire industries and keep society loosely functioning… But we still need a special list to find the people willing to write us checks. These aren’t companies that changed their profile picture for Women’s History Month and called it economic empowerment. These are funds with an actual track record of deploying capital into women-founded and underestimated companies. Female Founders Fund — Founded by Anu Duggal. Seed-stage investments in category-defining companies with women founders. SoGal Ventures — Founded by Pocket Sun and Elizabeth Galbut. Invests in women and diverse entrepreneurs across the US and Asia. Backstage Capital — Founded by Arlan Hamilton. Invests in underestimated founders, including women, people of color and LGBTQ+ founders. Fearless Fund — Co-founded by Arian Simone, Ayana Parsons and Keisha Knight Pulliam. Focused on scalable companies led by women of color. G9 Ventures — Founded by Amy Griffin. A consumer-focused private fund with more than 70% of its portfolio reportedly female-founded or led. Capita3 — Founded by Pamela York and Sara Russick. Invests in women-led companies, with a strong focus on healthcare and innovation. BBG Ventures — Founded by Susan Lyne and Nisha Dua. An early-stage fund backing female and diverse founders building for a changing consumer market. The Helm — Founded by Lindsey Taylor Wood. A seed-stage venture firm investing in companies with at least one woman founder. Halogen Ventures — Founded by Jesse Draper. Invests in early-stage consumer technology companies led by women. 📌 Save this list. Send it to a founder who is raising. Add the funds I should research next in the comments. And please stop telling women to “ask for more” without telling them who is actually writing checks. Follow me (Jessica Anderson) and Girl Tech HQ for funding opportunities, founder resources and fewer ceremonial panels about closing the gap.
