Stale phone data is a compliance risk. A number that changed hands last month still looks "valid" in most spreadsheets. Our TCPA guide covers the four things outbound teams need to get right: consent, Do-Not-Call, calling windows, and reassigned numbers. Why DMV data is closed by default. The Driver's Privacy Protection Act became law in 1994, after DMV records were used to find and murder the actress Rebecca Schaeffer. It reversed the default: motor-vehicle record data is off-limits unless your use fits one of 14 permissible uses listed in the law. That restriction applies to everyone who later holds the data, too. People often mix up two laws: DPPA is triggered by the data source (motor-vehicle records), whatever the purpose. FCRA is triggered by the purpose, whatever the source. A single workflow can touch both laws, one of them, or neither. https://lnkd.in/gnCDcwnd #Compliance #DataPrivacy #DPPA

See the match before you spend a credit. Every CoverFi search shows a free, masked preview first — enough to tell whether it's the right person. You only spend credits to unmask the record you actually need. https://lnkd.in/gbyctUBX #DataQuality #Operations

The most misunderstood point about the FCRA: it's triggered by purpose, not by the kind of data. The same address-history record can be fine in one workflow and a violation in another. What changes is the question you're answering. "Where is this person, and how do I reach them?" is informational. "Should this person get something?" is FCRA territory, and it belongs with a consumer reporting agency. The one-question self-test from our guide: does the result change what the person is offered or allowed? If yes, CoverFi is the wrong tool. https://lnkd.in/gDpwF2eR #Compliance #FCRA #DataQuality

Two calls. One person. 1. Search: GET /orgs/{org_id}/records returns people with permanent GD- record IDs. 2. Profile: GET /orgs/{org_id}/records/{record_id} drills into one. IDs stay stable across dataset refreshes, so you can store them. The full reference is written to be pasted straight into Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex. https://lnkd.in/ga9vBuQD #API #Developers #SkipTracing

In real estate, you usually know the property but need to reach its owner. With absentee owners, inherited homes, and properties found by driving for dollars, the owner often doesn't live there and can't be reached through the property. A real-estate skip trace starts from the address: 1. Search the address to see who's associated with it. 2. Cross-check against the owner name on the county record. Watch for maiden names, trusts, and LLCs. 3. Follow the person, not the property, to their current contact details. 4. Check how each result matched before you reach out. The outreach has its own rules: calls and texts fall under TCPA and Do-Not-Call. Our guide covers both. https://lnkd.in/gBGHStzD #RealEstate #SkipTracing #RealEstateInvesting

Every check ends in a clear outcome. MATCH — the details line up with a record. NO MATCH — nothing in 250M+ records lines up. NEEDS REVIEW — partial overlap, and we show you the evidence. Each result also carries a match confidence, so your team sees why — not just what. https://lnkd.in/gQXPFauu #IdentityResolution #Operations #DataQuality

Tracing one person is a quick search. Tracing a whole queue is a job for an API. If your team traces as part of collections, process serving, or real-estate outreach, an API runs the lookup inside your own workflow: — search by name, email, phone, or address — every result says how it matched and carries a 0–100 match confidence — strong matches move ahead automatically, and weak ones go to a person for review — you pay per lookup with credits, with no plans, seats, or subscriptions The guide includes curl and Python quick starts. https://lnkd.in/gjtNZcjp #API #SkipTracing #Developers
