Tomorrow night in New York: twenty operating partners, one table, and Cory Eaves of BayPine as our distinguished guest. Cory leads Portfolio Operations at the PE firm that put ChatGPT Enterprise into every one of its portfolio companies. The conversation is where flexible talent and AI actually fit in a value creation plan. No recording, no slides. Tony Buffum hosts, with Safeguard Global, alongside the PEI Operating Partners Forum. A few seats are still open for operating partners and heads of portfolio operations. Request one: https://lnkd.in/eAX_6VfU #PrivateEquity #OperatingPartners #FlexibleTalent

Six months to one month. That is the credentialing gap Eric Ly is closing, and here is why it matters more than it sounds. A doctor cannot bill until they are credentialed. Every week of delay is a week of care not delivered and revenue not collected. Multiply that across a health system and you are looking at a serious number. Eric's bigger point in this clip: there is a ton of sexy AI in the front office. Interviewing, matching, screening. Very few people are applying it in the back office, where the administrative cost actually lives. Take a big chunk out of the back office and you win. More care, more revenue, higher margins. Swap "credentialing" for whatever process gates revenue in your business and the logic holds. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/enveyCF4 -------- We're Human Cloud. The CHROs Kelly Monahan talks to behind closed doors are tired. They carried their organizations through the pandemic. Before they could catch their breath, every CEO started asking the same question: how do we become an AI-native organization? On the Human Cloud Podcast, Kelly and Tony Buffum dig into the burnout running through the HR pipeline, and why it's compounded by a decade of being last in line for digital transformation. But the flip side of the pressure is the opportunity. Twice in one decade, the entire organization has looked to HR to lead. Kelly's argument: the function that steps up, rebalances its bench with product and engineering skills, and owns the people side of AI will define what HR means for the next 20 years. The ones that wait for the tech team to figure it out will be reorganized under it. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/enveyCF4 -------- We're Human Cloud. We asked Sebastian a very practical question. You have two million dollars for talent and a platform to build. What do you do? His first response was that two million is a lot of money, which already tells you how differently he thinks about this than a Bay Area hiring plan would. Then the actual answer. Do not build one big team. Build several small combos: a product manager and two or three product engineers, all running AI, sometimes with a designer alongside. Or even simpler, the three roles we kept coming back to, a talker, a builder, and a designer. The part that matters most: give each pod one business KPI, then give them the power to build product against it and get out of the way. Not a feature roadmap. Not a ticket queue. A business outcome they own end to end. That is a fundamentally different operating model from the eight person team that used to be required to ship anything, and it is available to companies far smaller than the ones who used to be able to afford it. 🎙️ At SHRM '26, Tony Buffum sat down with William Tincup and Amy Miller on WRKdefined's Heroes of HR. His case: HR leaders don't get strategic by building a bigger team. They get there by building an ecosystem of partners and taking the administrative work off their plate. "I don't think a lot of HR leaders really embrace the ecosystem of partners they could be working with. They don't have to do everything in-house." Segment 8 of 11 on the 2026 Market Map: FMS. Contractors you engage directly still need onboarding, classification, payment, and an audit trail. A Freelance Management System handles all four, so the arrangement holds up when someone checks. On the map: Worksome, YunoJuno, Worksuite, and Hive 25. What a buyer gets: direct freelance relationships that scale past the point a spreadsheet can carry. Get the full map: https://lnkd.in/dkHSSCPx ------------ We're Human Cloud. Here is a second-order effect of AI that almost nobody is planning for. If a team of 100 becomes a team of 10, those 10 people are doing five times more things and owning far more of the judgment. Every one of them is closer to the core of the business than any individual on the team of 100 was. Which makes the outsourcing question different. When you had 100 people, handing a chunk of process work to a vendor who did not deeply understand you was fine. The work was defined enough that understanding was optional. At 10 people plus flexible talent, that stops being true. You need ownership, loyalty, and accumulated institutional knowledge. You need people in the tent, even if in the tent means contractors and external partners rather than employees. Maruf Ahmed agreed, and added the part that matters. You never want your workforce to be 100% employees either, because you do not have 100% of the work all the time. Ninety, plus ten when a project lands. That is the structure. The ten still have to know you. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/enveyCF4 -------- We're Human Cloud.
